Poythress named Second Team All-American

It’s hard to believe that it’s already time for preseason All-American teams, but it’s here.

The Sporting News released its All-Americans today and Alex Poythress was named to the second team. Poythress was also named to the All-Freshman team, along with Nerlens Noel.

Go Cats.

That’s an odd list. To be honest, I’m a bit surprised to see Poythress on the 2nd team. I didn’t think he would come in that high. Noel on the 2nd team would not have surprised me, Noel not on any teams is a bit odd. Especially when you consider that Jamaal Franklin, BJ Young, Adonis Thomas, and Michael Dixon all made the list.

Oh well, I would rather have players on those lists at the end of the season, than at the beginning. So I guess our guys will have to make the lists the old fashioned way. By earning it.

    3) Is that including me. I have not be cleared to play. Hopefully, Jones and the rest of the crack staff will at least talk about this issue. Practice will start and I could still be on the sidelines. Fans won’t have a clue why.

I would take a team with Canaan, Shabazz, Poythress, CJ Leslie, and Noel over that first team (McCollum, McDermitt, McAdoo, Deshaun Thomas, and a Zeller).
