Don’t fret too much, nothing is official yet. However (h/t to the always wonderful and entertaining @rcpeck2), word has come out of Green Bay that Randall Cobb was present but unable to practice today, supposedly due to an injury. This post is current as of around 3pm but things may change in the coming hours, and we will keep you posted here. I’d hate to see Randall sidelined for any amount of time during what has the potential to be a spectacular repeat Super Bowl run by the Green Bay Packers.
Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reporter Tom Silverstein is on top of this, or so we think. Keep an eye out of what he has to say about Cobb as news comes out. Randall was not listed with any sort of injury on Monday, but today’s occurrence has everybody wondering what’s up.
In other Cobb news, this little “Off the Grid” piece contains an interesting anecdote about our former Cat that I never knew. Apparently, Randall Cobb used to work as a hot dog vendor at Tennessee games…at age TEN.
“I used to work at Tennessee football games, I was a hot dog vendor…pretty much I sold hot dogs, once I finished then sit on steps and watch the game,” said Cobb.
10-years-old is not too distant a memory for the 22-year-old rookie. In fact, Cobb recalls one particular member of the Tennessee Volunteers during his hot dog selling days.
“That was the year they went to the National Championship, Chad (Clifton) was actually playing which is kinda weird, I’m in the locker room with him now.”
That’s it for now, folks. We will update you if anything become solidified. And just in case he is injured – get well soon, kid.
UPDATE: Randall Cobb is said to be “sore” with a groin injury. Not practicing tomorrow, may practice on Friday. Take that for what it’s worth, still an ‘up in the air’ ordeal. [source]
