Patterson back in Lex is always a BIG deal man. He helped bring us out of the “Gillispie” dark ages, so show some respect. Still one of my all-time favorites. Will do our young team some good to see this guy, his attitude, and how hard he workes. Saddens me that he didn’t get a ring…Pat, thanks for being part of the family!!!
Can we please get Jai Lucas in on a podcast? I’d like to ask him if he could do it all over again if he’d choose Kentucky.

I really hope what Anderson said after last year is true and he and some of the other vets and current NBA players come back over the summer to spend some time with the new players and returnees (most of whom should be on campus in June). The pride in the program that they have can be a major peer motivator.
Our title team 2 years ago had the benefit of practicing/playing pick-up/watching the Dominican Team, the NBA guys waiting for the lockout to end/all star Cats, Rondo (here most of the summer), and the Thunder (practiced here for a day or 2 thanks to Nazr). That was a huge factor in our guys being as good as they were as early as they were.
6 – You’re right. The summer of 2011 was a perfect storm for that team, with the NBA lockout, the Dominican team, and UK alumni coming together to jump start Davis, Kidd-Gilchrist, and company. I hope Cal can pull together something similar this summer.

As for Patterson, for him to commit to UK under BCG shows some significant love for our program. It’s easy to commit to Coach Cal. We all have love for Wall, Cousins, Knight, Jones, Davis, MKG, etc but none of those guys would have came here under BCG.

Lucas days seem like it was just yesterday. I thought he was a UK lock for sure. Crazy how times have changed, we were hanging on our seats for guys like Lucas and now..well we all know what is going on on.

All that $$ spent on personal chefs and colorful lights for the locker room, maybe UK shouldve invested in a top notch weight room instead of a Total Gym and a bunch of Shake Weights.
