Patrick Patterson talks about Chuck Hayes

Patrick Patterson was in town over the weekend and the man with the golden Droid, Larry Vaught, spoke to Patrick at the game.  In their discussion, Patterson shared his thoughts on fellow Wildcat/Rocket Chuck Hayes.  Pat called Chuck “the heart and soul” of the Houston Rockets – a phrase we often used to describe Patrick last season.

From Vaught’s Views…

Question: What kind of impact has former UK standout Chuck Hayes had on you as a Houston teammate?

Patterson: “Man, if people don’t know Chuck, they really need to. He’s shorter than the average centers in the league, but he is just as wide and just as strong. Chuck can pretty much defend any big guy and some perimeter players, too. Chuck is a huge part of the Houston Rockets. He is a huge part of our success and a huge part of why we have played so well.”

Question: Is he better than you thought?

Sometimes I forget Chuck and Patrick aren’t the same person.

    2. I went to see the Rockets in Indy earlier in the season, Pat was in the D-League and Chuck played 3 minutes. Hopefully you get a good showing from the former cats

Wow, The UK Baseball website needs some serious editing. I’ve never seen more mistakes on spelling in my life. It’s (almost) embarrassing.

Learning the ropes from Hayes should extend PPat’s career in the NBA and make him more productive too. What better guy to learn from than the ultimate over-achiever? In addition, I think PPat is taking advantage of the opportunity, which is a testament to his work ethic and intelligence.

Our defense could use a little Chuck Hayes and PPat.

I can only imagine how much Patterson would have helped this year’s team. Just like Meeks and last year’s team.

The best part of that link was seeing Vaught make sure to use a parenthetical reference to indicate that Shaq means Shaquille O’ Neal.

PPat should have been on the floor for the Rockets since the start of the season.
