P.J. Hairston under investigation by NCAA
The NCAA is snooping around P.J. Hairston and it doesn’t have anything to do with guns or marijuana. Investigators are looking into his relationship with Rodney Blackstock, an NBA agent who made headlines recently for paying Ben McLemore’s AAU coach.
Apparently, Hairston and Blackstock are very close (The Big Lead calls him Hairston’s “gatekeeper”) and the NCAA is curious as to how close they really are. Blackstock may be linked to the vehicle involved in Hairston’s traffic stop last month. If that’s the case, Hairston’s eligibility will be in serious jeopardy — up until the Kentucky game, of course.

The NCAA should bring Kanter back to UK so they can suspend him again to pay for this clear violation by UNC.

No problem for him.The NCAA will exonerate him,and he will start the season.Now if were anywhere else,say UK,he would have the book thrown at him with a lifetime ban.And UK would lose 3 scholarships,forfit their 2012 championship, be banned from post season play for two years,and be placed on probation for 4 years.

convenient time for the ncaa to realize they have no business with legal matters outside their own bu11$h1+ bylaws. tough luck, penn state.
Cal and Wes pay players 250K to sign elite players. They also had Nike rework a brother’s NBA shoe deal as a method to funnel money to a recruit. Terrence Jones had a nice ride at UK and his family could likely not afford it. Cousins’ family lived in a golf course home until the media started digging. They moved out in the dead of the night and Cousins brother withdrew from a local hs. Jones’ buddy was in the wreck with Jones and took the fall as the person who wrecked the car into the other car. The bag man friend posted pics of his ride. Also, posted pics of money spread out all over his room. But nothing to see here, move along. I guess it is good to have a guy like Wes, who the NCAA fears and has everyone in his back pocket. Cal then gets all the credit for doing nothing in recruiting. But lets focus on what other schools do wrong.

You guys are correct–nothing will ever come of this! Nothing ever came of the academic scandal involving UNC football and basketball players this past year.
Nothing ever came of Duke’s Corey Maggette receiving cash payments from an AAU coach (Myron Piggie) while he was still in high school.
It’s a few years old, but it’s a good read from Gary Parrish of CBSSports.com on how Duke basically got no penalities due to Maggette being ineligible his one and only year at Duke; but, the NCAA stripped Memphis and Cal of their 2009 victories and FF appearance because of the Derrick Rose situation.
