OSU President Gordon Gee is “retiring”

gordon-gee-2013-b50769fe753036f9
Sure…let’s just call this “retirement.”

Now, for news that should have happened days ago: Ohio State President Gordon Gee is retiring.

The news comes after a series of derogatory comments made by Gee about UK, UofL, the SEC, Bret Bielema, Catholics, Notre Dame, puppies, kittens, etc. Gee will step down on July 1st, when he will, presumably, spend the rest of his years picking out bowties, using air quotes, and perfecting his Montgomery Burns impression.

I hope this isn’t because of the comments he made. I would be like, “Yeah I said it. What?” If ppl get upset about what you say that’s on them. But, I guess he is just weak.

Good bye Geek. Please take David Williams from Vandy to your new school. He is one helluva legal scholar and does a great impression of a homeless person.

10–I agree. What he said wasn’t a big deal. I laughed when I read them. Sure, he should have issued an apology, but to get fired over that is a little much.

Americans are getting way too thin-skinned. Everyone is always offended.

I think they should let him keep a part time job there for being right about Louisville.

10 & 16- you all are so correct. Obviously he was working the crowd, even the best public speakers say things to make talking to a group of people seem more light-natured. Did he truly believe the implications behind what he was saying? Perhaps. But who cares? If SEC schools are stereotyped as anything, it’s that we’re good old hard working American country folk. And real Americans know how to be the butt of a joke and not get offended by every little thing said about them, because you’re a free American and nothing’s taking that away from you.

Don’t care what he said about catholics but to diss the sec and UK? Now that’s crossing a line.

14 no, I’m demonstrating in this photo that we in the Big 10 are intelligent enough to give people the “fingers”, not merely the “finger”.

18-presumably some tosu, catholic donors got pissed at him.
not sure why ppl are offended by his sec remarks tho. with all the $$ being brought in from tv contracts the programs should be all be top 100 schools.
and how could any1 disagree about his uofl remarks?

Like I said last week that Gee’s remarks resemble the attitude of many from the state of Ohio. That is the main reason that I cannot stand Ohio State. Most buckeyes like to cut people down and think they are better than others. I have dealt with them my entire life and many of them come from the same cloth.
