One Yahtzee down, any more to come?

With today’s commitment from four star defensive tackle, Cory Johnson, the class of 2014 fortified it’s numbers once again–and fans all across this great Big Blue Nation are hoping that the festivities don’t end there.  Could Matt’s forecast of a possible multi-Yahtzee weekend come to fruition? Let’s take a look at a few of the candidates most likely to have the Wildcat faithful rolling the victory dice again before Monday kills the buzz of an awesome weekend in Kentucky football.

Braxton Berrios

Okay, maybe this is just wishful thinking on my part to include Berrios in a list of most likely to commit this weekend. Or is it? The Twitterverse suggests that my wishes may not be as far-fetched as some would believe.  This North Carolina wide receiver standout was reportedly “talking about committing” during a meeting with Coach Stoops according to Stanley “Boom” Williams’ Twitter account.  If this doesn’t get your excitement juices flowing then you obviously didn’t see Mr. Honey Nut Berrios takin’ care of bidness at The Opening earlier this month.  This guy was made to fill the slot in the Air Raid.  While the internet claims that Miami is the clear front runner for Berrios’ services, all signs point to Braxton’s genuine enjoyment of his first visit to Lexington.  I’d say if he’s talking about a commitment, Kentucky should be considered second to no one in this sweepstakes.

Moral Stephens

Sticking with the wide receivers, Moral Stephens is a name that you better familiarize yourself with quickly.  The 6-3, 200 lbs Florida product with offers from Clemson, Arkansas, Florida, Florida State, Ohio State and a bevy of other schools that you would expect to accompany a list of offers like those. What’s more is that Stephens should be considered firmly on commitment watch to the University of Kentucky.  Oddly enough, Stephens, who is ranked as highly as nearly any player that Kentucky is currently recruiting, has snuck somewhat quietly into the wide receiver picture for the class of 2014. Reports indicate that Stephens visit to Lexington went extremely well and that he may be mulling over a decision to commit to the Cats before departing Lexington.  Somewhere, Drew Barker is smiling to himself as he watches his master plan unfold neatly before his eyes.

Nick Richardson

Luckily, the skill players aren’t the only prospects that could be falling in favor of UK this weekend.  Nick Richardson, an offensive lineman from Ohio (where else?) could find himself the subject of another Yahtzee outbreak on Twitter before the weekend ends. Richardson has declared his top two of Vanderbilt and Kentucky and with visits to both schools in the books, this four star prospect will be making a decision very soon–with this weekend being a rumored possibility for that choice to take place.  Richardson would be another promising piece to the (hopefully) impenetrable wall that has pledged to protect Drew Barker from the JaDeveon Clowney’s of the world. He would joining Derrick Kelley and Jarret LaRubbio as current OL commits.  Come on down.

Brady Taylor

This offensive tackle out of Columbus, Ohio has been a top priority in the Kentucky’s offensive line recruiting efforts in 2014.  Taylor visited Lexington this weekend and no doubt got a firm talking to from Stoops and his staff about their desire for him to join this class. Internet chatter indicates that Taylor would be hard-pressed to pass on an offer from his home town Buckeyes if given the chance, however, even if Taylor does get the nod from Ohio State, don’t count out the Cats.  It appears that Taylor wants to make a decision soon and with a top three of West Virginia, Virginia Tech, and Kentucky, he has no shortage of strong options. With a decision expected very soon from Taylor, don’t be surprised if he pops by tomorrow.

With decisions like these looming, many of which will work out in Kentucky’s favor, one thing is becoming increasingly clearer. The culture is transformed folks.  Throw caution to the wind. Say it out loud. Write it down in permanent ink. This is not a fluke.

Don’t be so sure about those with, or looking for, an Ohio State offer to commit to anyone else so soon. Urban Meyer is holding a Friday Night Lights camp this coming weekend at Ohio State. Before you say it, Urban Meyer started Friday Night Lights, Stoops is just copying. Ohio State is like a honey badger with programs like ours. They take what they want and leave the rest for us. I’m OK with that. We can still put together a great team with Ohio State scraps.

3- maybe that’s how it used to be, doesn’t feel that way now, Meyer seems like a shady guy plus just ratted out his old school, I don’t know about these recruits but I sure wouldn’t want to play for the guy

@4. What number 3 said is very true. The remaining 6 to 8 openings left for urban to fill are 4 and 5 star kids. Stoops is getting the leftovers urban doesnt want. Stoops has yet to get a kid that had a commmitable offer from osu. But hey the ones stoops is getting are great kids.

    6. I think OSU would have taken both Denzel Ware and Thaddeus Snodgrass. They both had offers from OSU.

7-Snodgrass tried to commit to Ohio state early in the recruiting process but Ohio state would not accept his commitment.

Urban Meyer wants the top 1% of thugs and doesn’t care about character. He can have him and when you see them on the 10 o clock news for doing whatever thugs do then you will be glad they chose OSU. Oh and isn’t Marcleys Jones committed to OSU? Oh I guess Urban Meyer doesn’t want him either. So what are y’all going to say when he flips to UK? What?? That Urban Meyer didn’t want his commitment either?

Marcelys flipping to uk? Wouldn’t that be cool? Wonder if he will?

    11. Marcelys Jones isn’t flipping to UK. The fact that you think it’s a done deal shows how little you know about college football. If you were paying attention, you would know that his high school coach, NFL player Ted Ginn Jr’s father, has his better recruits attend camps in the region to get attention for some of his other recruits.

You would also know when it was rumored he was visiting UK a couple months ago, Marcelys said ” Why would I want to go there.” The visit never happened.

On Friday night after the UK camp, Marcelys tweeted “I can’t wait to get home.” Does any of that sound like a man that is about to flip?
