I am sure very few of you got a chance to watch it (and some of you may even have Valentine’s Day plans), but one of the best games of the season just finished on ESPN U. Wichita St beat Creighton 62-61 in overtime to take over the lead in the Missouri Valley Conference on a shot at the buzzer. Wichita St (the shockers) is one of my new favorite teams, thanks in large part to the contribution of “Steve and Barry’s” a discount apparrel store in Middlesboro, Kentucky that sells sports apparell for eight dollars. I purchased a Wichita St shirt and my friend Jason Moore, who occasionally posts here, purchased a basketball jersey for the Haitian national team. You should visit soon.
Anyway back to the game. These two teams are part of the best conference that very few know, the Missouri Valley. This year, that conference may very well get four teams in teh tournament with these two and Southern Illinois and Northern Iowa. Wichita St is a real threat to make a mini-tournament run and you can bet that all teams do not want to see any of these four in their first round game. The game tonight was a classic matchup, with great team play and tension throughout. It was like a Kentucky game….well minus the great team play and the tension (just add in dread).
In other news, Ramel Bradley has no remorse for the incident that led to his one game suspension. This story by Larry Vaught on Kentucky Sports Report just depresses me. I love Ramel, but that is not a good attitude.
Ok back to the luge…..
