I’m in. Not sure that all of these traditions will be started or become a huge hit, but these are good ideas and something like this needs to be done. Absolutely agree with him about standing up and being loud on defense. It is a shame to be a fan of a team in the greatest conference with the best tradition in the country and feel obligated to sit down so the people behind you can see. You can’t criticize the team for not being great if you are sitting down and not doing your part to help create a homefield advantage. There is no reason a place with top 30 attendance in the country can’t have one of the best atmospheres in the country. GO BIG BLUE!

THis is a must do. Mike’s ideas are very similar to the ones I entered in the Fan Experience Survey, but KUDOS TO YOU SIR for making a video. Why not put THIS video on before the game at Commonwealth so everyone knows what to do? By the end of the season, people won’t need the video for instructions. If we can get 10,000 fans into the game like Mike, they will rub off on the whole stadium and we will have a true home field advantage. GO BIG BLUE!

How about eliminating alcohol consumption on campus during home football games? It is quite an embarrassment to the university, Lexington, and our society as a whole to see drunken individuals on UK’s dry campus. Also, how about tailgaters have a mandatory clean-up law so that the university is not left cleaning up garbage that is left behind?

Otherwise, I agree with Mr. Martin. UK fans need more tradition built in during games.

I agree with whoever suggested giving the “marketing” dept. the axe and bringing in someone like this. The thing that always kills me is that the stuff you need to do to create even a little more excitement are mostly no cost. I do, however, think we need to take into account the fact the reason the stands are so packed. A lot of the people who care enough and have enough money to pile into Commonwealth are not students, but older folks. Just like basketball a lot of our football crowds are not jump around types. We are a low population state, so I get that. Making a video/audio combination, having a more exciting band repertoire and building in some mass fan cheering traditions are things they could definitely do though. Kudos for taking some initiative Michael.

Here is an idea I heard floated on the radio show. Since we are paying homage to Kentucky’s horseracing heritage….how about have a Thoroughbred with rider in Blue/White check silks lead the team onto the field.

    29. RIGHT ON! We here at the UK police department fully understand the dangers of alcohol. Not only is it Satan in liquid form, but it is our number 1 priority. Why, you ask, have assaults and robberies on students gone up drastically in the past year? Because we have cracked down on the true crime, underage drinking! No more will drunken students make rash decisions like attempting to walk home, get a ride from a sober friend, or ask an officer for directions, instead we arrest them and throw all our manpower into stopping them from having too much fun.

I thought it was awesome in 2007 when the half the crowd yelled “we” and the other half yelled “believe.” That was great. I remember the LSU when that was started and the UK team completed the comeback. If we had went on and won the rest of the games that year including the NC I imagined that as the turning point in the season.

Then I want 10000 beachballs to be in the air during the 3rd quarter, especially if any Kentucky players on the field mail it in on defense.

And last but not least, I want the Marketing Department at UK to be individually honored at Halftime of each football game. Maybe this will make them feel like they have a responsibility and feel accountable as a part of the operation.

having a good football team that actually wins usually gets a crowd hype…UK needs to coinsistently win for any of this to matter

Love the fact this guy took it upon himself to do this. Ukaa should be ashamed of the vacuum they create from lack of football promotion. Joker needs to hire this guy on his own staff and tell the pencil pushers to pound sand.

Maybe matt jones will finally get on board something like this for the football program. Basketball talk 95% of the time is hardly ky SPORTS radio, the site and show should really be called ky BASKETBALL radio. More fitting of a name for this website and radio show. The guy that did this gets a huge thumbs up for a nice presentation and effort. I guess I should be grateful ksr put this on the website, it gives us a good foundation to spread the word. Can’t wait for big blue football!

How about “1st Quarter” and we say “We’re going to spot you 3 easy touchdowns”. Wouldn’t motivate our guys, but at least it’d be honest.

Its hard to be hype for the fourth quarter when we are getting our ass kicked. T-Pain can suck my left nut, that song is horrible. Thanks for the enthusiasm Mike but we will always be a 6-7 win team. Drink a beer and enjoy watching premier SEC teams come in and kick our ass.

I feel we need to start winning football games before playing a song like “All I do is win” for our intro. It makes sense for our basketball team and Auburn’s football team to use it. I have always felt like our fans should stand up and get loud while we are on defense. It’s not good when your the home team and you can hear the opposing QB’s cadence. I wish UK would hire Mike!!!

I think that this is an excellent idea, we need to be extremely hiped up for our players because they feed off of our energy. Let go Big Blue Nation “LET’S MAKE THIS HAPPEN”.
