On to LSU…

If there was a team that Kentucky needs to play next, it would be LSU. The Tigers have lost 9 games in a row and have only won 1 SEC game. During their losing streak, LSU has been outscored by an average of 18.2 points/game and have lost all but one by double digits. Their best win is hard to choose. They beat an Old Dominion team that is 3rd in C-USA, beat a Houston team that is 3rd in the AAC and beat the College of Charleston who is 1st in the CAA. I am not sure if any of those can be counted as “good wins.”

All of this is going without mentioning the head coach of LSU, Johnny Jones. We all have our best memories of how terrible Johnny Jones is, but my personal favorite is his technical foul during a LSU run during the game in Baton Rouge last season. Surprisingly, Jones has not been truly awful against the Cats, he is 2-5 overall, but 2 of those 5 losses have come by 5 points or less.

With all of this being said, LSU is not a good basketball team. Kentucky should win and should win big. Plus, this may be the last time we get to see Johnny Jones on the opposing bench, we have to enjoy it while we can.

It’ll be close because we won’t play defense.

Yep, we sure are everybody’s super bowl. Starting to look like we are everybody’s egg bowl

Have to say we’re not playing much better. Without some luck near the end we’d be on a 4 game losing streak.

luckier than most remember. Most people say were a last second shot from Monk away from 4-game losing streak. We actually got even luckier than that. With 10seconds on the clock, Briscoe drove the lane and literally threw the ball out of bounds, but it graxed the UGA guy’s leg. If that ball went out without touching his leg, we would have been down 2 with 9 seconds left, and UGA ball. We lose.

We’re not everyone’s super bowl for much longer

What’s different from our losses compared to the other ranked teams is that the ranked teams are losing to teams who are playing at their best plus some. Outside of Ucla who went nuts at rupp, our losses have come against teams who have not played that great. Excluding the 2nd half of yesterday, the opposing teams could have played much better making our losses that much worse.

What makes these losses from years past is that the teams we are losing to, excluding ucla and the 2nd half of last night, is that these teams are not playing that great. Cal said we are everyone’s super bowl but Florida played awful in first half last night. Kansas didn’t play that great, tenn didn’t, Louisville didn’t. I can’t imagine how bad it would be if these teams play like they typically do against us.

If Cats lose to LSU on Tuesday (and it could happen), at least we’ll know Saturday night was not rock bottom.

Like #2 says, they will absolutely play their best game of the season. And their arena will be full. Probably the only time all season

Kentucky Freshman AAU team will have a great game against the SEC doormat – LSU…but this team wilts when playing a top 25 team…take away Monk’s 47 in the UNC game and we would be oh for any team worth a damn!

…and did I miss Coach Celebrity Cal’s schedule update today….is he on his book tour and doing New York talk shows….or is he flying off to the Super Bowl (oops the Steelers didn’t make it) or is he doing his pod cast with Rickie or Ben or Charlie…amazing how wrong Cal was in saying this could be his best defensive team since at Kentucky…..they should give this defense a name…call it the Matador man-to-man….

…it’s February….time to stop giving the “Young Freshman” excuse.

…sorry to be so negative….but the last 4 games has been embarrassing….really embarrassing!

When did we become this half court team????

    easy fix
1.fox never shoots unless he drives. He can get to the rim as good as anyone we have ever had.Drive and dish or finish or get fouled. then Bam becomes a monster.
    2. Monk shoots 3’s or lay ups only. WAY TOO MANY 15-18′ off balence shit shots.
3 Briscoe never shoot unless lay ups and his job is to run in after the shot and put his body on other rebounders..

This is a lot like the problems with the Harrisons the 1st year they were here.
