Well, Mark Story seems to think Mitch’s friendship with Joker is going to cloud his judgement. I can think of nothing more inappropriate than an employer allowing a spectacular failure to remain in place because of personal reasons. Surely, a $600,000 per year AD can’t be this incompetent.

There is no decision to be made. Joker has to go if Kentucky takes itself seriously at all, when it comes to college football. Literally no school in America would bring a coach back under the circumstances. How much embarrassment do the UK fans have to endure?

Kyle, his teammates and the family of one of his colleagues who was killed in battle were in the same bar as Ventura. Ventura was vocal about not supporting the war, thought the American military were murders, etc. Kyle asked him nicely to tone it down since the guy’s family was in the bar. Derek Willis- the forgotton man. I fear that Willis, Kentucky’s top ranked player, will be doomed to that title for a while. I could be wrong, but I think Cal won’t have much trouble recruiting over his head for at least two years.

On that note, it will be interesting to see how long UK goes without a true born and bred Kentucky kid being a key contributor. It’s not Willis’ or even Cal’s fault. Do you think Darius Miller could have even come in with any of Cal’s UK classes and gotten significant minutes until at least his soph. or jr. year.

    235) Cal’s recruited one player from Kentucky so far (can’t count Polson because he was a walk-on), and that’s Willis. It’s not like Memphis is halfway across the country from Maysville. If you haven’t noticed, Cal doesn’t mind traveling to recruit guys he really wants. He wasn’t interested, and I don’t know if Darius would have had the same outstanding career if he had come in with one of Cal’s top ranked classes.

And I’m still interested to see how the fanbase will react when there isn’t a Kentucky boy playing significant time for a few years because that’s where the team is headed. Listen how much people want Hood to contribute and Polson. Cal out recruits most, if not all of the players in this state. It’s just the reality of the situation, and I think it’s interesting.

toughest schedule still doesn’t excuse UofL putting in 2nd string midway thru 3rd quarter, losing at home to western, and a bad arkansas team putting in 2nd string in 3rd quarter. i don’t think arkansas and western help our strength of schedule

Matt, the only thing worse than your musical knowledge is UK Football. John Mayer is an amazing guitarist and well respected in the musical community. Also, Jesse Ventura has asked your radio mentor, Howard Stern, to run on his ticket in 2016. Why don’t you own up to being such a Stern fan, are you afraid all the grey-hairs will not like you so much because you swing from Sterns nutz? “OOO-AHH!!!!”

    235) If you think about it, who was given most of the minutes at 2 guard Cal’s first year, even with Darius getting a year’s head start? Eric Bledsoe. What about 2nd year? Basically split time with Doron Lamb even as a junior. Senior year, Doron Lamb plays more minutes.

247 — Believe what you want. I believe Calipari as a UK coach would certainly not let a kid as good as Darius — and who wanted to attend UK and was from Maysville — to go to some other school. If not for anything else, Calipari would sign him just to not let Pitino get him. Darius was a dominant high school player and was just a special talent that doesn’t come around in Kentucky high school basketball very often. I firmly believe Calipari would have wanted him at UK. I feel even more confident that would have been the case considering the Willis recruitment.

    266) I believe Cal does make an effort to recruit Kentucky kids, or else Willis wouldn’t have been recruited. However, Darius is probably the best player to come out of this state since Rajon Rondo, and I can’t say for sure that even he would have played significant minutes until he was at least a soph. or jr. It’s nothing against anyone, I’m just saying that right now this team is program is pulling away from Kentucky’s talent pool, and I want to see how the fanbase reacts after several years of no Kentucky kids really playing on this team. I know winning is the #1 priority, but we all love seeing Kentucky kids play for Big Blue and contribute as well.

I think Ryan looks older but he can’t help it due to the worry and stress of Saul possibly returning to town when Tubby returns to get his much needed and long overdue recognition. I think if Ryan had Sauls doo he would at least look 57 instead of 56.5
