Ohio State joins the fight for Ryan Timmons

Things were looking good about a month ago for Mark Stoops and Kentucky in the recruitment of Ryan Timmons.  Now?  It’s going to be a fight to acquire that Signing Day signature from the Franklin Co. star.

Steve Jones confirmed that Timmons got a new offer from Ohio State last night.  Timmons also picked up an offer from Florida over the weekend and plans to visit Gainesville on February 1.  (Thanks, Joker.)

He’ll announce his decision on February 5.

He’s a decent player if he played HS ball in Florida. We don’t need him. Not a game changer like Cobb.

Ryan oh Ryan…Please don’t make the mistake of going to Ohio State or Florida never to be heard from again. Don’t get caught up in the Gator and Buckeye BS. You are getting late offers from both because their first, second and maybe even third choices did not pan out. Come to Kentucky where you are our first choice and truly wanted. Do you really want to play in the big 10? How did that gator offense look to you this year? Should be an easy decision Ryan…#BBN

#4….agree 100%. If I were 18 again, would I be wise enough to see the big picture. Realize there are seven 4 star guys in front of me on the depth chart at OSU and Florida? Realize that I could be part of Neal Brown’s offense and put up video game numbers for my career. I don’t think I was that smart as an 18 year old. I hope him the best in his decision and hope he doesn’t complain his senior year in Florida that he was never given a chance to play.

Early playing time is the name of this game! Kentucky will win this battle! Ohio State is offering because we have made in roads into their area–nothing against Timmons but why now? Joker well Timmons should consider the source and ask will I have more fun in that offense or the “Air Raid” and who did Brown visit the minute he touched down as in “Touchdown Timmons”! Our coaches have been up against big boys before as in Florida,Texas,Texas A&M, Alabama,Oklahoma,
Miami,Georgia,Auburn–I think they can handle this–Ky 1st and ten on Louisville 45 Smith in Gun and wide open down the sideline is Timmons “TOUCHDOWN TIMMONS”!!!

Ohio State has the best chance to unseat the SEC for a title next year, so maybe that’s his draw. I seriously doubt that he’d ever see the field for them, though, next year.

7 why does it need a blog entry? She said Archie haters can eff off. So what? She’s not employed by the school, she can say what she wants. I’m sure Cal isn’t proud but who hasn’t said things their parents aren’t proud of? give it a rest, it’s not a big deal.

If you’re gonna recruit the best you have to compete with the best. OSU and UF want him? That says something about Timmons. Here’s to putting Stoops and Co to the test.

Ohio State offered offered Timmons to greyshirt next year. UK is still in good shape. Worry more about Florida.

If we don’t get Timmons but do get Samples will be fine. Badet would have to be a huge prankster not to pick UK.With Blue and in my opinion Whitlow getting moved to WR/Wildcat plus what we have we’ll be tough to defend. Add in Borden at TE and hopefully JoJo with our current backfield and look out.

I think Timmons will wear the blue n white. Sure hope so!! Hearing we’ve got legit shot at Williams and Sample too! If we get two if not all three of these? I think we’ll get Timmons and one of two. Add Blue and Badet? That’s some serious upgrade at receiver! These next 2 weeks are gonna be none we’ve ever known round here! Stooped!! Go UK! Go Cats!

If we don’t get him, I hope he ends up at OSU. F joker and f florida. joker single handily killer Kentucky football, now his sorry arse is trying to come back to this state and pluck the top kids for florida. I wish Timmons and his people would ask joker what happened at UK and why is he JUST a wide receivers coach – and why someone didn’t pick him up as an offensive coordinator. Again, f joker!

Great point, No. 13. I think it’s great to have the best of the best trying to take away kids we want to sign. That means we are in the right neighborhood. In the past, we weren’t even in the game for these kids most of the time. Ryan Timmons owes us nothing. Let him conclude this is the best place for him to come or not. If so, then great. If not, that’s fine, too. We have other kids who will swing our way. That’s why you recruit more than one kid at each position.

If you are a Cat fan you want Timmons. Look at his tape. He starts, stops, and changes direction on a dime. He has incredible acceleration. He has exemplary vision. This kid would excel in any high school in Florida or Ohio. Brown really wants him regardless of who is left on his Big Board. You want him.

Don’t go to OSU Ryan because you’re their 3rd choice???LOL just goes to show that UK is a bottom feeder begging for the scraps of the big boys.

He will stay close to home where he can be a starter, in a similar football style that he knows and mom can come and see him play every week. Just my opinion.
