NPR Talks UK Locker Rooms

It has been a crazy week in Big Blue Nation land, with events intersecting the Kentucky basketball fan base and pop culture like never before. We had Chester’s great call about “liberal socialism” keeping UK out of the NCAA Tournament, making national shows, Big Black (who I didn’t know existed until this week) throwing barbs toward UK fans and now today, NPR lets the nation know about UK’s new locker room. Specifically, the radio show “Morning Edition” talked to members of the various teams using Lexington as a NCAA home about the state of UK’s new plush locker room palace. And needless to say, they were impressed. You can hear their thoughts, which included Butler’s Brad Stevens being very impressed, below:

    2) If you want to post, you have to pay the troll toll.

Win the title and then you can at least talk to us. We’ve got 3 since you last got one. Even if you win this year, it doesn’t make you better though. And enjoy it while it lasts. Next year, we’re going to be so hot your line beards will burn off. All the handchecking your team can manage won’t be enough to stop us.

Yeah, that wasn’t really necessary. But lack of professionalism in journalism is lacking these days, apparently even in major media organizations like NPR.

Unlike his team, the Kentucky Wildcats are the reigning National Champions!!

He already embarrassed himself with bad grammar and punctuation. It’s not really worth a response. Still..more legible than what you typically see from Louisville fans.

I could show some class and simply support my team. Instead I come on here and post this semi-literate piece of garbage. Just cemented my status as Lil’ Brother.

It is sad and pathetic that Card fans cannot get beyond their jealousy of UK even when they have a fine team and could be on their way to a championship. One would think they would be celebrating their team rather than over reacting to a piece on NPR about UK’s locker room. Trust me. I am certain you are not less of a man (or woman) because UK has the best locker room in basketball except for possibly the Miami Heat. Neither Siva or any other team’s players have been in UK’s locker room. It is locked.

Imagine someone taking a shot at UK fans? This site attacks UL fans constantly. You do realize that shows your inferiority complex? I still don’t understand the constant attacks from Jones and Franklin, UK is clearly the historically dominant program, why all the hate toward an in-state team?

    13. Sports fans talk trash. Thats just what they do. People that get complain about it are just whiners, and people that get upset are idiots.

As to the NPR post.. it was a pretty harmless piece of publicity for the school. Nothing wrong w/more people know UK has a first class program.

The last comment was kind of funny though. The CSU player talking about how their crappy facility helps build toughness. Might be some truth to that see how the UK kids played this year after getting their new digs.

The cards are the #1 seed this year. If they don’t win it all they should take a hard look at firing speedy rick. This is susposed to be their best team in eons! They under achieve year after year!

Clearly NPR reporters didn’t do their homework to know those locker rooms were paid for by “death to the Planet” coal money, or they would have mentioned it….
