Kentucky Sports Radio

University of Kentucky Basketball, Football, and Recruiting news brought to you in the most ridiculous manner possible.

Notes from Junior Day, courtesy of a Junior Day visitor

Derek Kief is a 6-foot-5 wide receiver from Cincinnati, one of Kentucky’s early targets in the 2014 class.  He was in Lexington over the weekend with several other highly-touted recruits from the class, and he recapped the Junior Day visit over on his website, DerekKief.com.

The “Recruiting MEGA post” author, who I believe is Kief’s uncle, referred to the visit as The Ohio Invasion, as Kief and five other recruits from the state of Ohio visited together.  Check them out:

Dorian Hendrix, Mikel Horton, Mike Edwards, George Brown Jr., Tyrell Gilbert and Kief.

Kief’s website features interviews with all six recruits, including mini-biographies and many more photos from the trip.  Kief said, “I just loved the whole environment and all the coaches.  They really like me a lot, I really like them a lot.”

He also called Kentucky’s Junior Day, “the most successful recruiting day in the history of the program.”

Is it too early to come on down?

Haha @ #1 as well…Kief has 10 offers from 4 different conferences, MAC, B1G, SEC and BIGEAST. From what I hear, he’ll end up with about 10 more offers soon.

I want to believe we can get Top-100 recruits, but I’ll be skeptical until the new training facilities are built and we land some of these guys. If a recruit compares our current facilities to those at Alabama , Ohio State and all the other top programs, he will probably be hesitant. Now, hopefully Coach Stoops proves me wrong this year!

    1. You are an idiot. Horton is visiting Alabama next month. They don’t take visitors unless they are legit.

Funny seeing all the UL fans making dumb post about our rising football team. Why would any kid that can play not want to be in the SEC. Ohio, FLA and KY will bring us a bunch of top notch players. Finally we have a coach who knows where to recruit.

#3 The first poster is either ignorant of 2014 FB recruiting or a poser. Also, why does Drew Franklin refer to it as Derek’s web site when the web site clearly states “This website is not owned, maintained or financed by Derek Kief or his immediate family”. It’s a web site about Derek’s football accomplishments, etc., that is owned, maintained, ran, etc., by his Uncle, Lance Hart.

Go check out Derek Kief’s site. There is a ton of good info there including who has offers from which schools. Also, some really interesting photos. (Drew Barker + Derek Kief)

Just remember, Ohio is recruited by LOTS of programs….the competition will be stiff so don’t get too upset when the Cats miss on a few prospects…plus generally Ohio St. gets first pick on most Ohio elite prospects..one positive is that OSU is recruiting better nationally since Urban Meyer arrived, they just pilfered two of the top 4 in Michigan for 2014 in the last few weeks..and will probably only have 18 to 22 spots open due to sanctions..this should allow other schools to get more than usual from ohio…also expect Michigan to really push into Ohio more than usual since Meyer is taking prospects from that state..its going to be interesting to watch

Hey # 10 and soooooooooo! This is the BEST football staff Kentucky has had since Bryant and Collier. These guys have gone against Urban when he was at Florida–just relax this is not the Kentucky you’ve grown to doubt! “Turn the sirens back on here we come”
