Not so fast…UK spokesman says Noel’s status is the same

Not so fast, my friends. A UK spokesman now says Cal’s statement that Nerlens Noel has been “cleared to practice, cleared to play games” is equivalent to what he said last week, when he said “If there was a game today, he would play.” As of now, UK says there is no update on Noel’s status and that they will not comment on his eligibility until the first game.

Sigh.

I hope NCAA gets this right, they retroactively punish school for someting they fail to do is the dumbest thing ever. Once a player is ruled eligible, it should be final no matter what evidence surface afterwards. This is the reason NCAA has very little credibility because they try to blame their failed investigation on schools.

I have a feeling that Cal already knows he is eligible and sort of blurted it out in excitement. Probably won’t hurt us, but I’m sure the administration would want to keep it on the low-low until gameday approaches.

If the NCAA ever tries to punish UK over any of this, I hope some one at UK sues the NCAA for all they’re worth ala Jerry Tarkanian.

I have been saying he will miss games and layed out the coaching staff’s true feelings for weeks on here. I have been called out as a troll by the sunshine pumpers and my posts have been deleted. Noel will eventually play, but the coaching staff feels he could miss double didgit games.

I’m telling you now, Noel will never see playing time as a Wildcat. The NCAA is going to use Noel as a pawn to punish Calipari and UK for winning the title with one & done players. Sadly, his goose has been cooked.

I have INSIDE SOURCES close to the program that say that Noel WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE to play for the NBA this season!!!! Believe it…you heard it here first!

    5. They are not punishing UK, it is an investigation into Noel, not UK.

The ncaa likely won’t rule on noel for a couple months.

I’d say there is about a 90% chance he won’t play vs. Maryland or Duke… then it’s cupcake city until Louisville.

Scratch that, ND and Baylor are good games. If hes suspended for 5, he’ll be back for both of them. Maryland and Duke are pretty much out of the question, though.

The NCAA was/is looking into a trip he took to Louisville of all places, if they want to go after someone, go after someone at UL.
