North Carolina license plates! Now available for #BBN!

The North Carolina DMV now offers UK vanity plates for those fans and graduates of the University of Kentucky who are stuck living near Tobacco Road. This one was submitted by a KSR reader.

I assume Michael Kidd-Gilchrist has plate numbers UK-0001 through UK-0044.

Go Cats. Buckle up.

The moment that California offers this, I will have one on my Pantera. Current plate is 72 CAT. The model year and the year I got my degree from Phoenix Online, er, THE University of Kentucky.
    GOOOOOO CATS!

I live in North Carolina and wanted to say thanks to Keith Carlson and his crew in Charlotte that had been working on this project for several years. I can not wait to get home and check my mailbox.

Surely MKG got #0014. I tried to see who the most famous #45 is, and the picking are slim. The last player to wear 45 was Derrick Ramsey for 2 games (8 minutes) in 1976! Looks like Bob Guyette is the best known of the bunch.

Whooo-hooo! Thanks, Keith Carlson, for doing a fantastic, bang-up job on getting UK vanity plates in NC! The plates look great!

This is crazy odd !! Another state (a basketball state at that) allowing another states powerhouse college basketball program vanity plates: Only the BBN.

Those are awesome and what perfect timing. I just moved to Durham taking a job at Duke and need a NC license plate. That will look perfect on my car with my UK decal & UK license plate frame parked on Duke’s campus!

I just moved from NC 3 months ago. Keith Carson and the Queen City CATS were taking signatures for quite a while and being very aggressive to get these plates. I moved a little too early. Good job y’all!

I saw an Indiana plate w/a UK logo printed on it yesterday in Lexington. Looked like it was on a student’s car. Of course, he was weaving in and out of traffic and cutting people off just like any other Hoosier. You can take the kid out of Indiana…

I live in NC and these folks who got this done have been working with UK fans across the state for a few YEARS to get this done. They rock. I cant wait to sport this. UNC fans have been by far the worst I have ever been around. this was a huge effort and great accomplishment. Well done to the team in Charlotte!

    18. At least he made one good decision.

And this is perfect timing since I might be moving to NC soon (I’m taking the Matt Jones law school route.)

It was a joint effort between the two large alumni groups in the state – Charlotte and the Triangle. Bob Hall, president of the Triangle alum group, has also been persistent in his efforts to get this done.

It took us about a year to get done, but we also now have a UK license plate in Texas. You can view it at http://www.myplates.com/landing/Passenger/122
