One of the highlights of each college football season for me is finding out which lower-level team will be coming to Lexington for a likely big victory. While games against Louisville and Temple were decided long ago, it was only last week that we found out that the 12th game on the schedule will be the Norfolk State Spartans. The Spartans play in the MEAC Conference (once hope to a player my buddy Trevor called the She-ac of the Meac) and last season went 8-3. Sounds tough right? Well yes, until you find out that they also lost to Rutgers 59-0….so they are beatable. The UK team will be losing many of its best playmakers, but will be experienced on defense, meaning that a game against a team like Norfolk State may be exactly what the doctor ordered in Week 2. Either way, the Tidewater area is coming to Lexington and I am sure the Bluegrass will never be the same.
