Personnel rumors surrounding college football fly around all summer, and by the time school starts we start to hear solid facts. Unfortunately, one of the floating rumors regarding a player in UK’s recruiting class turned out to be true. 2011 WR Nile Daniel officially did not qualify through the NCAA.
Word had been out that it didn’t seem likely Daniel would not make it to campus this fall because of several issues with his high school transcript. Last we heard, Tee Martin had said Daniel wasn’t on campus and that he “didn’t know what his deal was.” Official word from the NCAA Clearinghouse was the hold up, and Joker Phillips finally got the damning news today that Daniel was not going to be eligible to enroll at the University of Kentucky. Where Daniel’s life path leads him from here is unknown, as are the chances he’ll end up at UK at any future point.
