University of Kentucky Basketball, Football, and Recruiting news brought to you in the most ridiculous manner possible.

Next Week is a Big One

It seems like we say this all the time on this site, but it is once again true. A lot will happen next week that will be crucial for the program. The three main things are….

1. Terrence Jones Might Make His Decision: Nothing will make a bigger impact on how Kentucky will be NEXT year than the decision by Jones. If he signs a LOI (and please just do it Terrence….for all us Joneses out there), then Kentucky ends up being an actual contender next year, with a potential preseason Top Ten ranking. He is that important and is the only ready-made star left in the class.

2. The Assistant’s Position Will be Filled: Most speculation is that Kenny Payne will be hired to fill the shoes of Rod Strickland and become the new UK basketball Assistant. State rules require the job to be posted for a week before any hiring is made (I hope you are getting your application in) and that would coincide with the end of the week next week. Most expect UK to move quickly for recruiting purposes and if the pick is Payne, a dynamic recruiting staff just got even better.

3. Eloy Vargas and (maybe) Kadeem Jack Makes Their Calls: Vargas will be on campus this weekend and could very easily give Kentucky a PF before Terrence Jones even puts on a hat. Kadeem Jack also may attempt to sign a LOI before the deadline next week, and both guys are serviceable (and in Jack’s case with a lot of potential) options for next season and beyond.

So as we begin the weekend, remember once again. The news cycle never stops when it is UK basketball on the mind. Have a big weekend folks….
