Nerlens Noel will announce his decision April 11th

The two best players in the country in the class of 2012 will be making their college decisions on the same day, as Nerlens Noel said today that he would announce on April 11th as part of the ESPN signing day special. That means he’ll be committing on the same day as Shabazz Muhammad, the other top player in the class who had previously said he would announce on the 11th. Noel, who is playing in the All-American Championship this weekend in New Orleans along with Willie Cauley, Andrew and Aaron Harrison and Derek Willis, has narrowed his choices to Kentucky, Georgtetown and Syracuse. Most believe that the Cats are in the best position to land the big-time shot blocker and #1 ranked player in the nation. Muhammad has also narrowed his list to three schools, and will be deciding between Kentucky, UCLA and Duke. If they both pick Kentucky, it will be one of the biggest recruiting days in history and the Cats could be scary good next year. I like the way that sounds.

Based on Cal’s track record, I’d say he’ll probably get at least one, if not both of these top recruits. Being a huge Cat fan, I know I’m biased, but they’d be crazy to go anywhere but UK!!!

Calipari has created a tsunami that is sweeping the collgege basketball scene. We get both of these guys as the wave rolls toward a dynasty.

Since they each have narrowed it down to three schools each, and Kentucky is their only common denominator, it has to be Kentucky!

I still think we need at least one guy to come back next year in order to win #9. Hopefully Lamb will.

    Harrow
    Goodwin
    Poythress
    Cauley
    Wiltjer
    Hood
    Muhammad
    Noel
    Bennett
    Jefferson

That will be our team next year. Starters: harrow, Goodwin, Muhammad, Kyle, Noel.

    Nerlens to Syracuse
    Shabazz to UCLA

No worries, though. We won’t be as dominate next year, however, we will still be good.

It is not a coincidence that almost every recruit he gets has a chance to turn pro after one year. These kids are not NBA ready when they arrive on campus but they are after only one year of teaching by Coach Cal and his staff. Look at all the other top recruits that didn’t choose UK of Cal didn’t choose them and see how they played their first year. If Tubby was the coach and Davis happen to pick us (never in a million years) I guarantee Tubby wouldn’t even have started him and by his senior year he would have been terrible and had to play overseas.

If we win the title, cal is going to the nba. Do not want him to go. But i will take that trade.

I would love to see Jones and Lamb both come back and graduate next year (after summer school this year), they are close and we need the maturity with the new guys coming in. I think it would help both of their games.

Seems interesting to me that they both choose the same day to announce. Most big time recruits like that attention for themselves when they announce. Why would you announce on the same exact day unless you both plan on going to the same school?

Cal ain’t going nowhere. He saw Pitino’s mistake, and Cal knows he has a dynasty in the building. An elite eight, final four and now a championship game in the first 3 years – yeah he ain’t going anywhere. Plus his family loves Lexington.

Quit starting rumors trying to scare recruits.

UK is getting Noel and Muhammad – because they want to come here and be winners. What’s wrong with that?

    My 2 cents…………..
Bazz, noel, and bennet will wear Blue and White next year.

Lamb will come back as he is a projected 2nd rounder….he is not in liggins situation though. Teague is gone he is around 20 on most draft boards.

I have a gut feeling TJ may come back……….for some reason he loves cal and cal is so hard on him…..I think TJ could improve his draft status the most by coming back (17-20) right now he could easily be a top 5 player next year.

Cal told current and future recruits directly that he would be in Kentucky. Point blank. Period. To go back on that would hurt his personal brand and he is too smart to do that.

Cal would be making a mistake to leave UK for the NBA. Cal has the best job in college basketball, and can make millions at UK until he chooses to leave. The NBA is a tougher proposition. Cal’s greatest strength is recruiting and that won’t help in the NBA. If Cal is as smart as I think he is, he will stay at UK.

Cal coached at UMass and Memphis each for 8-9 years without going to the NBA. It’s not like he’s Larry Brown changing jobs every few years. I would like to hear convincing reasons why he would choose to leave UK for the NBA after only three years.

I have heard TJ and Lamb have had enough of school and will be moving on…Davis is a no brainer…I think Teague could go either was and MKG is probably leaning towards going…Shabazz and Noel are waiting till April 11th to make sure that Davis and Jones/MKG are going pro before they committ….In my opinion Noel is a lock and Shabazz is leaning our way. Don’t think we get bennett but we are set
