Neal Brown on Bobby Petrino

neal-brown

We have just officially entered the summer season here in the Bluegrass, which means the dog days of August are just around the corner. And when you’re in August, you have football. And with football means the debut for Kentucky coach Mark Stoops and offensive coordinator Neal Brown against long-time archrival of Big Blue Nation, Bobby Petrino and his Western Kentucky Hilltoppers.

There is massive amounts of work to be done between now and then, but the pieces are in place to make a strong showing in the 2013 season. Two of the best offensive minds in the game, each with a long run of success with an air-it-out mindset will square off in Nashville. Listen to Brown talk about how important it is for UK to get a season-opening victory over WKU.

Bobby Petrino has never beaten KY in the opening season at Louisville or Arkansas! It takes him at least one season to build up a team to beat KY. Go Cats!

Does it really matter if Uk , beats Wku? I would think any year this should happen. I wouldn’t bragg about beating the Hilltoppers.

Wku Says: So we go from “They SEC?” To “So what, BEEG deel?” that quickly?

I’m thinking that really doesn’t speak well of your confidence in this contest.

#2 has Petrino ever faced UK in his opening season when UK ALSO has a first year coach? Not only will we have a first year coach, we have a first TIME coach. Petrino is licking his chops waiting for this one

#9 – No! Stoops is a better coach in every category than KY has ever had in recent memory! Petrino had better fist year teams at Louisville and Arkansas and still could not beat KY. Bobby is good, but he must get the right thugs to be successful.

#10 NO! at this point you are wishful thinking. The fact is that Stoops is proving to be a better RECRUITER than KY has had. You can’t call him the best coach when he has yet to win or lose a game as a head coach! EVER. You are showing a remarkable skill of missing the point. You say Petrino could not beat UK as a first year coach. And I may be wrong, but I think Petrino started at UofL in 2003, the same year Brooks started at UK. UofL won that year, petrino’sfirst at UofL (but again, this is what I remember, but haven’t verified. Feel free). Regardless, both teams will have a brand new coach, new schemes, etc., but only Petrino is an experienced proven winner despite the fact he is a jerk.

#2 Petrinos first year at Louisville was 2003. Beat UK at Commonwealth 40 – 24.

So once again the facts bitch smack your BBN delusions.
