The NCAA’s spokesman released a statement yesterday which we somehow managed to miss, but it seemed to agree with Cal’s assertion that the decision on Enes Kanter should come ‘soon.’ Chuck Wynne’s statement read:
“As of today, the case is still under review. Both the University of Kentucky and the NCAA are working towards a resolution and are aware of the need to bring this case to a speedy conclusion for the benefit of the student-athlete and the institution.”
While that doesn’t really make the tea leaves say anything one way or another, it does assure us that the folks at the NCAA haven’t completely forgotten about Enes, which is nice of them. Still, though, it seems that when people start talking action isn’t far behind the words, so hopefully these words mean a resolution is on the way quickly. For now, however, we still must wait.
[Because you always want to know, and because I want to make sure my already icy Christmas card status with him isn’t endangered, I’m obligated to tell you that I got this information from Jerry Tipton.]
