NCAA is taking a closer look at UCLA’s recruiting class

Allow me to only momentarily interrupt your UK/UL news to report a tidbit from the world of college basketball. According to UCLA’s Scout site, Shabazz Muhammad might not be the only member of UCLA’s recruiting class in question. The NCAA is looking into the recruitment of Kyle Anderson and Tony Parker in addition to Muhammad. (h/t @JohnMartinCA) Pete Thamel, can I get a retweet?

If you’re wondering why any of this might be of interest to Kentucky fans, if you’ll remember, Muhammad and Tony Parker both held interest from Kentucky.

big surprise. UCLA/USC are big time cheats. For some reason, this Shabazz always reminded me of OJ Mayo.

They will slam UCLA if they get the chance but find nothing wrong at UNC! That’s the sad part!!!

Ironically, it seems impossible for a team to stay clean in the City of Angels. Too many temptations and preying agents.

Should we be surprised? They go from being GARBAGE the previous few years, and all of the sudden all of these players want to go there? Kind of reminds me of UNLV, but to a larger extent.

Shabazz will never play a day for UCLA. The rest of the crew is probably in the same boat.

Obviously Coach Cal did not do enough cheating to land either one of these guys.

They should have gone to UNC, then we wouldn’t have anything to worry about since UNC never violates the rules. Yeah, right.

Ehh, nothing will come of this. If they had signed for Cal, however they would never have seen a moment’s playing time.

No doubt that UCLA is a school that cheats but UK fans shouldn’t point a finger at anyone when Calipari has the worst reputation in all of college basketball. The fans know it and the most telling of all is that his peers know it. It isn’t about jealousy either because he won the championship last season. Donovan has won two championships and not a single peer of the 100 coaches polled mentioned Donovan as a cheater. Go Gators!

    16. Jealous much? You guys aren’t even good in football anymore.

#16,you need to look at the poll again.

16)It’s called jealousy. Last I checked, Cal’s never been caught doing anything. He’s got a clean record when it comes to recruiting violations in 25+ years of college coaching. Some of his former colleagues that were assistants with him at places like KU and Pitt said the whispers were there even in the 80’s simply because Cal was signing guys over top programs, but they NEVER saw Cal cheat. Not once. Never any proof of anything.

So, “reputation” is one thing (which is largely jealousy by his peers, the ole’ “He must be cheating to get guys over me!” mentality), but PROOF and FACTS are another. When the haters can provide proof that Cal cheats, then we, as a UK fanbase, will take that person seriously. As of now, no facts, proof. Just jealousy.

16- all the fans and his peers know “what”? u need to clarify urself there. all u say is they know “it”. what “it” are u blabbing about?… and oh yes donavan did make your stupid poll

I think anytime a school lands a top 10 recruit that Cal is in on, there should be an investigation. How can they beat Cal at recruiting without cheating. After all we all “know” Cal is “dirty” right?

You would have to be an idiot to think UK could get away with anything. Unlike UNC,,,,the NCAA would love to nail Kentucky. Of course,,,you are entitled to your opinion,,,however misguided it is. Why is the NCAA so interested in UCLA ?? Well it gives them an opportunity to bury the so called investigation into the self admitted academic fraud at UNC.
