NBA Cats’ Openers (Updated)

These guys, plus 15 others.

Yesterday, Chris Thomas provided some introductory UK NBA stats after four former Wildcats played their season opener.  This morning, though, after several more games were played last night, we have some updated stats.  Everyone saw, or has at least heard by now, that Anthony Davis is officially starting his takeover of the NBA.  But how did the rest of the crew do?  Check it out:

John WallWashington Wizards – DNP vs Cleveland, likely out until the end of November with a knee injury. (loss)

Jodie MeeksLA Lakers – 3 points, 2 rebounds, 1-3 FG, 1-3 3pt  vs. Dallas. (loss); 3 points, 1/2 FG vs. Portland (loss)

Josh HarrellsonMiami Heat – DNP, coach’s decisions. Jorts didn’t get in, but he made the reigning championship team’s squad and that means a lot. (win)

Rajon RondoBoston Celtics — 20 points, 7 rebounds, 13 assists, 9-14 FG, 0-2 3pt vs. Miami. (loss)

Anthony DavisNew Orleans Hornets – 21 points, 7 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 block, 6/12 FG vs. San Antonio (loss)

Darius MillerNew Orleans Hornets – 3 points, 1 rebound, 2 assists, 2 steals, 1/2 FG (both 3-pt.) vs. San Antonio (loss)

Patrick PattersonHouston Rockets – DNP (strained quadricep) (win)

Terrence JonesHouston Rockets — DNP (win); Terrence Jones was looking to get more minutes with PPatt out of the game, but wasn’t put into the James Harden show against the Pistons. Can’t blame the coach. If the lineup is on fire, don’t mess with it.

Enes KanterUtah Jazz – 6 points, 7 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 block, 3/5 FG vs. Dallas (win)

Eric BledsoeLA Clippers – 13 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 turnover, 5/8 shooting vs. Memphis (win).  Bledsoe had a terrific night off the bench, picking up the above line in only seventeen minutes.

Demarcus CousinsSacramento Kings –  14 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, 3 steals, 2 blocks, 7/14 FG vs. Chicago (loss)

Chuck HayesSacramento Kings — 2 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, 1 block, 1/2 FG (loss)

Tayshaun PrinceDetroit Pistons — 12 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, 4/9 FG (loss)

Brandon Knight, Detroit Pistons — 15 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal, 2 turnovers, 5/15 FG (loss)

Nazr MohammedChicago Bulls — 2 points, 1 rebound, 1 block, 1/1 FG (win)

Marquis TeagueChicago Bulls — DNP (win)

Deandre LigginsOK City Thunder – First game tomorrow night.

Daniel OrtonOK City Thunder – First game tomorrow night.

Michael Kidd-GilchristCharlotte Bobcats – First game Friday night, and MKG is expected to start.

Thanks for doing this Corey! Great way to keep up with the former CATS!!
Shame TJones didn’t even get in the game. Am I the only one that finds that extremely odd?

I hope you guys are gonna do a post on Mike Scott. He deserves it as he’s a UK guy through & through who is essentially on his deathbed. Prayers are with him & his family.

Plus Kanter did all that in like 13 minutes because he was caught with an elbow and the cut required stitches – he came back in later and picked up part of that stat line. He was apparently wearing another awesome hat and a skull & crossbones belt buckle postgame, which raises his awesomeness yet another level.

Teague will never be anything in the NBA im afraid. I love Darius getting minutes. Bledsoe is going to be on his way out of LA if he keeps it up. Teams will trade to get him so that he can start for them. Im hoping Liggins gets some minutes and plays lock down d. Davis is so fun to watch. TJones cant play over Morris or Parsons? I bet he finds a bigger role deeper into the season

@ 3 – Are you talking about the same Mike Scott who played for UK back in the 80’s?

Interesting to see Rondo at 6’1″ was the top rebounder of all the Cats, tied only in rebounds by Davis, Kanter and Cousins. He also was only 2 assists shy of having as many assists of all the other Cats combined.

Teague really screwed up. Instead of leading the Cats to possible back to back NC’s, he is going to be in the D-league. He really looked horrible in the preseason

    What’s wrong with Mike Scott?

Was it just me, or did Darius look like he gained a couple two or three…or 25 lbs? He looked really heavy.

Great Post! Like others have said, it’s nice to have all of those stat lines in one place. The more NBA coverage the better… these guys are now part of BBN!
