Mr. SEC Ranks UK’s 2014 Class 5th In The SEC

” We fif…F-I-F, FIF!”

If your head hasn’t been located under a fairly large sized rock for the last 7 months, you may have noticed that UK’s football recruiting has picked up a little bit. UK’s current class of 2014 is ranked anywhere from 3rd to 13th in the nation depending on your preferred recruiting service and even though that number is expected to drop into the teens on Signing Day, people are starting to take notice of UK’s jump into the top half of SEC recruiting.

Mr. SEC compiled its recruiting rankings so far for the 2014 class, and Kentucky comes in at a comfortable 5th in the conference. The rankings were compiled using 3 seperate criteria: Quantity, Quality, and High-Caliber Recruits (4 and 5 Stars). Rankings were then combined with the lowest point total overall being ranked first, and so on. Kentucky, with 20 commitments ranked 2nd behind Tennessee in the quantity department, 8th in Quality, and 6th in High-Caliber Recruits. Here are the rankings in full:

1. Tennessee

2. Alabama

3. Georgia

4. Texas A&M

5. Kentucky

6. LSU

7. Ole Miss

8 (t). Florida

8 (t). South Carolina

10. Auburn

11. Vanderbilt

12. Mississippi State

13. Arkansas

14. Missouri

I thought we had 9 4 star players and not 6. That report is a bit confusing.

I don’t believe this. I think I’ll believe Rivals. #3 in the nation is much better.

#2 Mr. SEC is a website not a person and what are you saying? The class is good but likely to be worse by January? Better? Not really sure why this article upset you.

7 – According to a chart printed in the LHL this weekend 9 of our 2014 commits have a 4 star ranking in at least 1 of the 4 major recruiting services. No single recruiting service however has more than 6 4 star recruits listed for UK. So it depends which recruiting service you look at whether a player will be a 4 star or not.

Rivals counts stars. If you go by average stars per recruit you could get a different result. This is fair.
