Morgan Newton, Danny Trevathan included in ESPN’s SEC Outstanding Performances

newton2

Good news first:

Although he was stymied by a lousy offensive line and slick-handed wide receivers, Morgan Newton got a shout out from ESPN in their weekly SEC awards, under the “Other Outstanding Performances” category:

QB Morgan Newton (Kentucky) — Completed 27-of-41 passes for 255 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions against Louisville.

Danny Trevathan also made the list for his 12 tackles, which included a sack, and a forced fumble.

Bad news:

Florida RB Chris Rainey was named Co-Offensive Player of the Week for his 233 all-purpose yards (108 rushing, 104 receiving, 21 on punt returns) in the Gators’ win over Tennessee.

Gulp.

I’m afraid the only statistic that matters is 17-24.

The Gators are only a 17 point favorite for Saturday’s game. Now is the time to get well BBN. Put your $$$ down boys…Fla. will win by at least 35 BIG ONES!!

They could have added that Newton was sacked a lot (stats say six but I counted seven) and yet did not scream at his weak offensive line.
