More video of Julius Randle playing with Marcus Smart

Last week, the video of Julius Randle and Marcus Smart’s dunk contest got everyone in the Big Blue Nation fired up for basketball season. Now, more video from that open gym has come out, featuring Randle, Smart, Matt Jones (gearing up for his Cal Fantasy Camp appearance), and Neal Twin on the same team. Check out the video above, which isn’t quite as exciting as the dunk fest, but it’s still pretty impressive.

I’m not sure which is better: the outside jumper at the :57 mark or the dunk that comes after it.

I think the jumper is easily the best play. He went up and hit that one pretty quickly with a hand in the face. If he can hit shots like that with any consistency, then he will be a very dominant player and first team all-american, because he can definitely impose his will on just about anyone on the inside and in the lane.

Dont forget about the refs. There will be games where he catches, turns vertically without leaning in and a defender will fly through the air and a charge will be called a couple times and he’ll have to ride the bench awhile! Ah, the great equalizer!

Each player should get 6 fouls in college so it at least reduces the amount of an impact that I can have on the game.

    11. I’ve thought that offensive fouls should just be treated as a turnover. The penalty should just be a loss of possession, especially when it is typically the defensive player jumping in the path of the offensive player trying to draw contact.

#12) That’s actually a good idea. However, since I’m Doug Shows, I’d like to foul out as many UK players as possible so unfortunately your idea will not work. If you don’t like it, I’ll give you a technical.

In fact I will see the coming college basketball season as a failure if I don’t keep UK from going 40-0.
