Monday’s Football Press Conference Notes

This was one of the funniest press conferences of the year. Towards the end of Phillips’ interview, the lights cut off in the Wildcat Den, which Phillips thought was an assassination attempt. “I thought I was gone, man. Assassination or something. I’ve read [Martin Luther] King’s book,” Phillips said. His reaction is classic. Please take a look.

****************************************

Taylor Wyndham’s beard is awesome. So much so that the media asked him questions about it for literally twenty minutes straight. TWENTY MINUTES…. about a beard. There was minimal football talk from Wyndham, so I’ll just give you the beard highlights.

-Wyndham hasn’t shaved since August 2nd, the first day of Kentucky’s training camp. When it grew long enough to become noticeable, Coach Phillips started to referred to Wyndham as “Wilson” from the classic Tom Hanks’ movie Castaway (pictured below).

-Wyndham’s beard is inspired by Pittsburgh Steelers DE Brett Keiselwhich is understandable. Both are defensive linemen, both look like they live in mountains, and both resemble the original man.

-The beard has made eating and drinking chores for the Senior DE. “I have to lift my mustache up to take a drink and all kinds of food gets stuck in there. I have to wipe by face every two seconds.”

-It’s not surprising that Wyndham’s mother hates the beard. “When I saw her on Saturday’s Cat Walk her eyes got big and she said “Uh-oh.” Even though Mom hates it, you would think girls would dig Wyndham’s beard, but he says that’s not the case at all. “No, they hate it too. Chicks hate it, Guys envy it.”

Wyndham’s plan is to cut the beard off on December 1st, right after the season and “No Shave November.” KSR will definitely have to get one last picture of it before it is no more..

KRS, why even post about a memorable scene in a video if your not gonna give us the time during in which it happens. That’s really lame

Tayler was probably one of those dudes who started shaving in third grade. You know, the guys who bought beer for all of their SENIOR classmates when they were FRESHMEN because they were the ones with the facial hair.

    8) Duke fans don’t even care about Duke football so you think a UK message board is where you are going to get an “atta boy”? ACC Football is a joke, Duke football is a joke, and David Cutcliffe is a joke. Go away scrub, at least until November 14th. Then we’ll gladly allow you to come back and get laughed at.

I have come to the conclusion that I actually think it’s best to support Joker and lets bring him back for the last year of his contract. There are to many openings in college football right now and I’m afraid we will get stuck with another bad coach. I also think we have some good young talent that seems to be getting better each week. Finally I think no one wants to win or cares about the program as much as Joker so, there ya go bash away.

When will KSR stop called it “No Shave November” and start calling it by it’s real name, “MOVEMBER”. Look it up.

    13) You’ve gotta to be kidding. Just inside the SEC, Tennessee and Arkansas are locks to be hunting for new coaches before the end of the year.

“MOVEMBER”, correct nomenclature or not, sounds more like a gay pride celebration month. I’ll stick with the “No Shave” modifier.

    16) Movember is for growing moustaches only, no shave november is what it is, no shaving anywhere. Know your facts before you call someone out. 12) The more I think about it, the more I believe I’m in agreement with you. Flame away haters. 13) Really? RYNO already stated what I was going to, no need to repeat it. I believe if Joker is let go we’ll get the scraps left over. Firing him just to fire him doesn’t serve any purpose other than to appease a percentage of the fan base. Replacing him with someone who most likely won’t do a much better job does little to fix the programs issues.

We can’t keep Joker around for one more year and then get rid of him. His recruiting would be worthless bc every player he recruited would most likely transfer. Or he’d get terrible players that would stay.

I totally understand what Taylor Wyndham is goin through.. (Most) girls don’t dig it, but the guys do envy it. Nothing worse than a chick hatin on it, and then a dude complimentin’ ya on it… Weird..
