The fact that some people in that poll said that they wouldn’t watch the Cats against RMU are not true fans. You can’t just choose to be a fan when we are winning all the time! You have to stick with them when they need it most, which is right now! If, as a ‘fan’, you choose to quit this team until next year, I suggest you stay away. UK doesn’t need fair weather fans. That is all. Go Cats!

19* I can’t handle watching this team anymore, you can call me a fake fan if you like, but when they don’t have any fight or will to win, it’s tough to sit and watch that for 2 hours when there are more productive things to be done.

  24. Al B. Frank
    11:36 am March 18, 2013 Permalink

Couldn’t agree more with #19. If you are a fan, you support your team through the good times and the bad times, through thick and thin. You don’t just hop on the bandwagon when things are going our way. If the Cats are playing, I’ll be watching.

  25. Al B. Frank

I’m picking Middle Tennessee State University, since they are a veteran team, they beat all those top 100 teams (Ole Miss and… uh… uh…), they played well on the road (13-5), and all those other reasons that the committee used to justify their being in the tourney instead of the defending champions.

I’m going out on a limb and picking Georgetown. Otto Porter is really good, and I like their path. I think KU slips up against VCU. They have very week point guard play, and VCU forces a lot of turnovers. Plus Bill Self has a knack of losing to mid-majors.

But I wouldn’t be adverse to someone who’s not been in the mix for a while. (Miami? I’d take Ohio State maybe, but have too many relatives who are The Ohio State fans.)

Not UCLA either. I don’t think they have a real shot, but throwing out that disclaimer.

Of course I’ll be watching my Cats and wearing the blue/white!

Picking Miami or Gonzaga for the win. Will also be rooting for Western and (ducking for cover) the SEC teams to do well. Wouldn’t mind Kansas except this would be a great year for a lesser team to sneak in and take it all. I’d love a Cinderella.

My order of those I don’t want to win is a little different.
Louisville is hands-down the worst case scenario because the fans are already making my FB page ugly and have all season.
Then Indiana. Duke is actually a distant third for me simply because their fans don’t generally troll our board.

I’ll be rooting for upsets, not that I’m going to watch many games. I’d rather see a Miami, MSU, or Michigan win than most of em. I’d be okay with Florida just because their fans didn’t even appreciate the last 2 they won, but I’d rather someone else wins since we still compete with Florida for recruits frequently.

Anyone but Louisville, Duke, Indiana, Kansas, UNC, and UCLA.

I don’t think a traditional program wins it this year & I am not stoned when I say this: Saint Louis. their coach passed away right as the season began and they have been extremely impressive. Granted, they are not in a power 6 conference but think about this: they have emotion, purpose, experience, depth, and have zero pressure on them (unlike Kansas, Louisville, Indiana, Duke, etc.)- Would you want to play this team?
