Drew Barker will attend UK’s Spring Game, only receives 102 letters from Mississippi State

barker msu letters

Two and a half weeks ago, UK made a recruiting splash when they sent 2014 QB Drew Barker 115 handwritten letters. Dan Mullen at Miss State must’ve caught wind of this, sending the Senior to-be 102 letters today. Good try Miss State, but Starkville just can’t compete with LexVegas.

It looks like South Carolina is falling behind the Big Blue as well. Today Barker told Justin Rowland of Rivals, that he will be opting out of South Carolina’s Spring game to attend the Blue/White game next Saturday. “”I decided to switch because I’ve already seen everything to make a decision based off of South Carolina and I feel very comfortable with them. That being said I want to give other schools a fair shake and make sure I see and do everything at these schools like I did at SC. I will be at (Kentucky’s) practice on (April) 8th but will come back and stay Friday and Saturday.” He is currently on his way to Rocky Top for an unofficial visit this weekend.

Can we please refrain from using the term “LexVegas”? Thank you.

From the sound of that, South Carolina is way in the lead.

Why would he come to Kentucky over South Carolina? Or any other SEC school for that matter.

Does this really work or is this just a waste of time and postage cost?

has a recruit really ever picked a school because they wrote more letters?

Seems silly and desperate to me – but what do I know.

Whats the point of sending this many individually wrapped letters? This is ridiculous and would piss me off if I was a recruit. Just give me a couple thousand dollars and I’ll commit.

This route sucks. I hate UK and MSU. Have these guys never heard of email or texts?

Something just seems very wrong about sending “kids” that many letters. It comes accross as desperate and rather immature to me.

I was a pretty good HS Football player and Hal Mumme sent me 0 letters. Therefore I didn’t go to Kentucky. Just sayin…

Nice to know that recruiting is the only thing keeping the USPS afloat.
