Mike Haywood Jabuzzoff Has Buzzed Off – Fired By Pitt

After last nights incidents it’s now being reported that Pitt has decided to fire Mike Haywood before he could further damage their program.  I will abstain from any tasteless jokes this time around.  Could Wannstedt be coaching to get his job back against Kentucky?  More as we know more.

Official School Statement:

“After careful consideration of recent events, the University of Pittsburgh has dismissed Michael Haywood as its head football coach, effective immediately. He was advised of that action this afternoon.

To be clear, the University’s decision is not tied to any expectation with respect to the terms on which the legal proceeding now pending in Indiana might ultimately be concluded. Instead, it reflects a strong belief that moving forward with Mr. Haywood as our head coach is not possible under the existing circumstances.

This is a matter of real regret for the many people at Pitt who had looked forward to working with him. However, head coaches are among the University’s most visible representatives and are expected to maintain high standards of personal conduct and to avoid situations that might reflect negatively on the University.

We will immediately re-open our search for a head football coach, expanding the process to include a larger pool of candidates. Our goal is to move swiftly, but prudently, to find the right person to successfully lead the Pitt football program for what we hope will be an extended period of time.”

It takes Pitt one day to terminate Haywood while Ricky Three Stacks is still being worshiped by the scum that is Tommy Turleneck and James Ramsey. It is a shame that tax payer money has to be spent on Retard U.

I heard that Pitt’s next coach is going to come down to Phillip Fulmer, Tom Bradley, or Brady Hoke. Facing Fulmer in the bowl would just be unreal.

His wikipedia entry needs to be updated. 11. Pitino gets on my nerves as much as most UK fans but the joke is old. Get some new material.

My last comment was poorly worded. I love the Cats and can’t stand Pitino. I’m pretty sure I hate not funny jokes over and over and over again.

This guy is not on a level with Pitino or Pearl for that matter. Although it’s the right thing to do I wonder how the decision would have come down ifthey had made a good hire in the first place then this happened. Probably more like UL

I’m appalled that the University would not stand by it’s man. How tasteless. I would never in a million years hold anyone to that kind of moral standard, whether he’s guilty or not.

Good job, Pitt. If my hometown school was a little less willing to put up with zero-class behavior from its head coaches, I might be a little less thrilled about kicking their ass yesterday.

He ties Alabama’s Mike Price for the shortest coaching tenure in history–zero games! Congratulations to Pitt! All schools should have a zero tolerance policy for violence against women!

This guy paid a heavy price for allegedly losing his temper in an argument and assaulting the mother of his child. He has gone from head coach of a major program to being charged as a felon and probably now having to rebuild his resume as an assistant somewhere. This case will most likely be resolved with a plea or some sort of anger-management program ordered by the Court. But, the Coach’s career has taken the major hit.

Not only “who is going to coach the bowl game?” but is the Pitt team even practicing this week? If so, who is leading the practices? Did the old staff hang around? If not, had the new coach hired any new staff before he was fired? I can’t even find the answers on Pitt’s site. Do these jackoffs even know they have a game to play on Saturday? We better beat the holy hell out of this team or it will be embarassing.
