J Polson needs to teach Brian Long how to sit like you appreciate that Kentucky across your chest.

Wiltjer is going to steadily get better and eventually be a world beater before he leaves the Bluegrass.

Kyle, Willie, and Alex all looked to have beefed up. Now we gotta get nerlens bigger and we got a team!

Myra Fleener: You know, a basketball hero around here is treated like a god, er, uh, how can he ever find out what he can really do? I don’t want this to be the high point of his life. I’ve seen them, the real sad ones. They sit around the rest of their lives talking about the glory days when they were seventeen years old.

Coach Norman Dale: You know, most people would kill… to be treated like a god, just for a few moments.

Heard that Cal is looking at a local kid (cannot be named here) to fill in the roster. A 2 guard/small forward.

    Thoughts:
    (1) What number will The Fade wear?
    (2) Hood’s been spending some time in the weight room
    (3) This will be a fun team to watch

Stein is a monster. Lord thats a big boy. Makes Boggie look Small. Makes Noels look small. Look how much bigger Hood is after sitting out last season.

    3) Only if we have injuries.

Our top 8 are Harrow, Goodwin, Poythress, Wiltjer, Noel, Cauley-Stein, Mays, Hood

Cal regularly plays only 7 or 8 players. It’s a concern that Hood is coming off injury and wasn’t exactly a world-beater before, but we’ve got a 2nd-year starting point guard for the first time, a seasoned transfer in Mays, and a returning top 7 guy in Wiltjer to go with our big 4 recruits. That’s pretty good as far as Cal’s turnover goes.

And like 10 has, we could still add Trocha in December. He’d likely be very rough, but another big body is another big body.

I think Calipari is gonna have a blast coaching this team and that he is really going to have to “coach up” the guys this season. Though it will be fun, it will make him age quickly. This team will make many, many mistakes and will certainly have to find an identity quick. Expect older guys Harrow and Mays to really be depended on to be consistent and play a leadership role on the floor. This team will have talent, but not in the depth that is overwhelming to some teams. Will be interesting to see which freshmen will emerge as leaders, either vocally or by their play. Will be a lot of fun this season.

I still say its a shame Cal came in and ran off Kentucky boys who were walk ons but bring in people from other states who have no clue about UK basketball and short as hell to be a part of the team. I wish they’d leave. I agree though that Wiltjer and Hood both look bigger. Look forward to seeing what they do on the court this year. I hope we can stay away from the injury bug again this year. Lack of experience is bad enough.

Cauley-Stein looks huge. The pictures I saw all year long was a long and lanky player that would need to put on weight and would take time to develop. What’s up with his body? Has he been hitting the weights or what?

If Hood is 6’7″ then Poythress is 6’9″ and Cauley-Stein looks like a big sum bitch. I am team Cauley-Stein all the way I think this kid is going to be a monster.
