Meet the LSU Starting Five

G 10 Andre Stringer (5-9, Fr., Jackson, Miss.) 13.4 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 3.0 apg (10.0 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 5.0 apg in SEC)

LSU’s Notes: Had 21 points on two occasions … Hit four treys five times … Started at point since third game … Long-range shooter hit 36 treys (2.1 a game) … Led in scoring in 8 games, double figures 12 … Season best seven assists vs. Arkansas, just two turnovers (1/12) … 37-of-102 (35.3% from arc) … 76.1 percent from line (70-92).

KSR’s Notes: Is that a mugshot?

G 21 Matt Derenbecker (6-7, Fr., Metairie, La.) 5.8 ppg, 2.1 rpg (13.5 ppg, 7.0 rpg in SEC)

LSU’s Notes: Made his first start with Ralston Turner out at Auburn (1/8) … Had 3rd double figure game of year with 15 points … Posted second straight double figure game with 12 vs. Arkansas (1/12) … Played 77 minutes last two games combined.

KSR’s Notes: By the looks of Derenbecker I’d say he is a good free throw shooter and has a high basketball IQ

G 45 Aaron Dotson (6-4, So., Seattle Wash.) 7.4 ppg, 3.2 rpg (2.5 ppg, 6.0 rpg in SEC)

LSU’s Notes: Looks to find touch again that he had earlier in the season … Sophomore season overall improved finally shaking knee injury from high school senior season … Double figures four times.

KSR’s Notes: Soft.

F 13 Eddie Ludwig (6-9, So., Metairie, La.) 3.2 ppg, 2.9 rpg (4.5 ppg, 2.5 rpg in SEC)

LSU’s Notes: Replaced Storm Warren in the last two games because of tendonitis in right achilles … Had six points and four rebounds in 23 minutes in the Auburn win … Ludwig making 78.9 percent at the line (30-of-38).

KSR’s Notes: Ludwig is listed as probable (gingervitis).  He leads the SEC in freckles and he has no soul.

F 5 Malcolm White (6-9, Jr., Baton Rouge, La.) 8.9 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 1.2 bpg (10.0 ppg, 6.0 rpg in SEC)

LSU’s Notes: Ole MIss transfer returned to starting lineup at Rice (12/29) after coming off the bench against Southern (12/27) to record second double double of career (both at LSU) … Has started 16 of 17 games … 57-of-115 from field (49.6 percent) … Ninet games scoring in double figures … Leads team in blocks with 21.

KSR’s Notes: Scored 20 points for Ole Miss against Kentucky in 2009.  Also soft.

MATT WILL LIVE BLOG THE GAME BEGINNING AT 3:30.

This is one of the most disappointing round-ups of an opposing team you’ve ever had Drew..

…… not only that, his hair cut pays homage to LSU legend, ‘Pistol Pete’ Maravich. Those were the days in Memorial Coliseum.

UT gets calls the rest of the season they got down the stretch in this game they won’t lose again.

yes #8 and Vandy player slides 15 feet across the floor and no walk is called and 2 refs call a block and an out of position ref changes it to a charge. Yes #8–those Vols sure were getting the calls.

9–Yeah, he slid 15ft. because he was fouled.

    9) Refs were scared cause the UT kids “still have some weapons.”

9, dude went 15 ft because he was knocked that far by your thug guard. Guards Cheater Bruce brings in with regularity. Hard to argue with UT fans, they think games should be given to them as a birthright. Got one today.

TN winning is good for UK, because Vandy is the biggest threat.

also, funny to see a UK fan talking about games as a birthright and ref ‘bias’. BTI tried to make some sense about that yesterday, and he was killed in the comments. I mean it was BTI, but still.

14, actually I admit to being envious of the calls y’all get. UK seldom gets a favorable call in their own building, getting a call on the road is impossible. Already know the script when we come down there…T Jones will have 2 fouls before he gets off the bus. Gets his 3d with 12 mins left in the half, his 4th at the 14:00 mark of the 2d half and foul out with 6 mins left. Meanwhile, your bunch continues their grabbing, shoving, slapping, tripping, going over the back unabated. All this turns a 25 pt UK win into a 8 pt struggle. UK will still win but the 3 refs, one an asst manager at Wal-Mart, one an unemployed used car salesman and the other an asst principal at a middle school will keep y’all close.

What about ESPN3?? On UK’s website, it says the game will on ESPN3…but it’s not listed on ESPN3’s schedule of games.

The game isn’t on tv up here in Dayton, OH on local cable.
