You’ve probably heard the name Jakarr Sampson recently, but it didn’t involve the Cats. The St. Vincent – St. Mary’s star was the headlining piece of Steve Lavin’s 10-man recruiting class at St. John’s, but has now landed at Brewster Academy with UK targets Mitch McGary and TJ Warren after failing to qualify. The 6’7″ Sampson, who was Scout.com’s eleventh-best small forward in the class of 2011, will most likely reclassify to 2012.
And because he’s with McGary and Warren, UK’s coaches checked in on him yesterday while in New Hampshire. A new name for 2012? Maybe.
Either way, he’s good.
