McDonald’s All-American Game Week

The McDonald’s All-American games take place this week and the players have already been in town through the weekend, participating in various activities. Yesterday the players visited the Ronald McDonald House and hung out with the kids there that will benefit from the charity event. Below you’ll find the rosters and a guide to all the events. Also be on the look out for a lot of interviews and recruiting commentary with the players, although none that I’m aware of have plans to announce anything groundbreaking this week.

East Roster : Reggie Bullock (UNC), Tobias Harris (TN), Kyrie Irving (Duke), Joe Jackson (Memphis), Perry Jones (Baylor), Jelan Kendrick (Memphis), CJ Leslie (Undecided), Kendall Marshall (UNC), Jayvaughn Pinkston (Nova), Josh Selby (Undecided), Jared Sullinger (OSU), DeShaun Thomas (OSU)

West Roster : Keith Appling (Mich St), Harrison Barnes (UNC), Terrence Jones (Undecided), Cory Joseph (Undecided), Brandon Knight (Undecided), Doron Lamb (Undecided), Ray McCallum (Undecided), Fab Melo (Syracuse), Jereme Richmond (Illinois), Josh Smith (UCLA), Tristan Thompson (Texas), Patric Young (Florida)

Powerade JamFest Monday March 29th 6:30

Much like the NBA pre-game festivities, this years shoot-off/dunk-off activities will be taking place at 6:30 pm tonight, but will actually air on ESPN2 at 7:30 pm. That’s what my listing says for Northern Kentucky Directv but you may want to check your own local listings to make sure you don’t miss it.

Awards Dinner Tuesday March 30th 5:30-9:00

Cool for the kids, snooze for us.

2010 McDonald’s All-American Game Wednesday March 31st 5:30 (Girls)/8:00 (Boys)

This is the big salami and the game that you don’t want to miss. For many of you, it may be the first time you get to take a look at many players that are surely going to factor in some way into UK’s success next season. The boy’s game will be on ESPN at 8:00pm.

As I said before, you can expect plenty of interviews and recruiting speculation to occur during this week. Here’s some links to what has already began to filter out due to the festivities.

Highlights from the first day of practice for the players

Brandon Knight says that he doesn’t have a leader at this point (HT: Aaron). Knight also told that he will announce his decision on April 14th (possibly). More on that below.

I enjoy basketball, Kentucky sports and extremely short walks on the beach, followed by a nap. Sorry ladies, I'm taken.
