Max Smith is one of the SEC’s “Other Outstanding Performances”

The Southeastern Conference announced its Players of the Week for Week 1 of the college football season earlier today, and believe it or not, the Wildcats failed to receive any honors.

BUT, Max Smith was mentioned as one of the “Other Outstanding Performances” for his 35-for-50 day with 280 yards and two TDs against Louisville.

It’s the small victories in life.

Go Cats.

The offense looked good. The defense is what was horrid. Highschool corners could cover better than ours did.

I like Max. I liked him last year. I think he can be the real deal at QB. Too bad he is the real deal when our defense is unreal.

Smith was ok but he padded his stats when uofl called off the dogs. They went prevent ad had a lot of subs in on defense.

People on here complaining about Max stats saying most were screens and dump offs are not paying attention. It seemed to me that he was taking what the D was giving him. Louisville safeties were playing back. If the guy is open at 5-10 yards… hit him with the ball. No need to chuck it down the field into double coverage.

For a small fee, I will send some of my “nephews” that are good at football to uk. Don’t worry Joker, I will let you get all the credit just like Cal gets it.

Max has the football mentality that newtown lacks. He’s a gamer.

    4) Seriously…Smith played pretty great yesterday. Those two fumbles by the running backs made our offense seem a lot worse than it actually was

4- but isn’t that exactly what the defense wanted to give him? They held his 280 yards/ 8yard average to only 14 points. UK has no playmakers that make that dink and dunk scheme even remotely dangerous to any D. WHy allow them to open it up down field when what they were running wasn’t producing much of anything?

I think some of you want so hard to see anything positive, you’ve blinded yourself to what was really going on yesterday.

I think it is so funny that Cats fans were talking smack about Teddy B all week and now no one gives him props. You could have had NFL corners on our guys yesterday and Teddy would have completed on you all. Teddy is a beast!

All this means is that the Kentucky football SID nominated him for the SEC weekly Player of the Week awards.

Just saw where uofl’s starting RB (Brown) was injured in warmups. Would have been even worse had he played.

Kentucky should just face the fact that it’s a Basketball school. They should try to get into one of the Basketball Conferences that takes the sport seriously. I would like to see them in the ACC first or the Big East second. It would be interesting to see how Kentucky does against a season worth of basketball schools every year.

@ 12, why would UK join the falling apart Big East? The SEC has won more basketball championships in the past five years than the Big East. They have won more in the past 25 years. The Big East in another year will be a mid-major conference.

As for football, the SEC has money. UK is fine where they are.

    13) Translation: UK enjoys cashing those SEC welfare checks, Obama style.

@ 14, not really sure what that means. The Big East is clearly losing money in football. The ACC has not been a football conference in years. UK is fine where they are.

As for basketball, only the ACC has won more championships in the past 10 years span and 25 year span than the SEC. When people say the Big East is a “basketball conference” I laugh out loud.

    Since 1987, the SEC has won 6 basketball championships, UK – 3, UF – 2 and Arkansas – 1.

The Big East has 4, UCONN 3, Cuse – 1.

Why would UK join a weaker conference with less money making sports?

Really? Really?? Really/ In case you retarded fans haven’t noticed(and you haven’t ’cause you’re like ‘tarded an all), we know we suck. we know our coaches suck, and we know our players suck. You know how we know? Because we play in the toughest conference in America, where you don’t get handed a championship and a BCS berth just by being the last school in the conference.

Teddy’s a good player. Can run, throw the ball controls the team well. But no, in the SEC, we’re he, and his team, would be going up against the best teams in the country, week after week, would be middle of the pack at best. And that’s in the East, where we’re down for the last few years.

They beat us so that’s a given. They prolly beat Vandy, but Vandy would scare them. Florida would win by a touchdown, so would Georgia. UT by 10 or more. The OBC likes to whip up on pretenders, so 21 or more point loss there. In the West I can see you beating one Missipi school, the other a toss up, and losing to everyone else depending on how high up the ladder you go. ‘Bama wouldn’t even need to start their first string.

So go back to irrelevant Big East. Remember to thank God for getting the other good teams to bail on you. And remember, no one likes you here. If you all died tommorrow we wouldn’t care.

Max had better numbers than bridgewater did. More yards and a couple TDs to bridgewater’s Zero. Max looked good to me.

@15 SEC fans don’t care about Basketball. UK is a joke in the South. UK is a wasted spot in the SEC and they should be replaced. A proactive move while they have John would give UK a better chance to get into thae ACC. I can see why you wouldn’t want to go to the Big East. It’s a physical conferecne and UK hasn’t had any depth for years.

    @ 19

Too funny. I mean, what’s two National Championships in the past five years?

As for UK being a joke. They were second in overrall standings for sports in 2012. What a joke… lol
