As Kentucky football fans, we’ve had our fair share of tough losses, especially at the hands of Steve Spurrier. But for team captain Matt Smith, last year’s 54-3 beatdown may have been the worst:
“It was one of the biggest losses I’ve ever been a part of in all my football career. It takes a little bit out of you when a team comes at you like that and just doesn’t let up. It’s something we’re going to remember going into this game.”
Smith went on to say that South Carolina could be the best team Kentucky faces this season, which, combined with the low morale and bizarre coaching decisions around the program right now, doesn’t exactly bode well for Saturday’s game.
Dear Maxwell’s shoulder: please heal quickly.
