Matt Hartline?

In the article bestowing a helmet sticker to Maxwell Smith for his great performance yesterday, ESPN writer Edward Aschoff seems to be mistaken on the name of UK’s former QB. That’s okay. I once tried to forget the name ‘Billy Gillispie’ but it was burned into my memory. I wonder if Brian and Mike Hartline are out search for their long lost brother Matt right now.

I’m glad Max had a good night but let’s get real folks…we beat a team projected to finish in the LOWER tier of the MAC. I see little reason at this point to get excited and certainly don’t understand the near orgasmic accolades these inexperienced young kids on KSR are bestowing.

We will win our three cupcake games but until we start putting up numbers like last night against the big dogs of the SEC, there is no reason to get excited. We will win 3 and maybe steal a fourth win somewhere. Wish it could be better but I just don’t see it yet.

Nonetheless, our team did what they were supposed to do.

I am happy with Max Smith’s performance so far. He will get punished in the SEC though due to lack of weapons and Joker’s offense. The fact the freshman QB is redshirted is excellent because it will not waste his first year with this hapless team and coach. Having a seasoned QB, Smith, and the talented freshman having 4 years of eligibility should be enticing to a Petrino or Leach.

Chris Ault might take an offer from UK to be in the SEC. Pistol offense.

I believe that Petrino, plus his downside, is the best option for the Cats. He built Arkansas up in the SEC and was knocking on the championship door. We will not get a chance at a PROVEN SEC winner like this again. The only reason he would probably consider us is he is licking his wounds from the scandal and no big name school is going to have to get desperate enough to go for him. He is far above any of the other names considered with field coaching ability. We should shoot the moon and get a bonafide coaching wiz and finally get out of this mediocre football status.

Markp. You understand it was the senior sec writer that gave this accolade. Not an “orgasmic accolade from an inexperienced young kid” or whatever you said.
