Four-star DT Matt Elam is currently on UK’s campus visiting with the coaching staff. The 6’6″ 325 lbs. defensive tackle from Elizabethtown is sitting with Stoops and company as we speak (type):

Elam is the 2nd best prospect in the 2014 class from the state of Kentucky and 28th best defensive tackle in the nation, according to 247 Sports. Earlier this week, he tweeted a picture of the 69 handwritten letters he received from UK. Why 69? Heads out of the gutters please…that’s Elam’s jersey number, and the staff included a note saying they’d save it for him at UK:
He currently has offers from Alabama, Kentucky, Louisville, and Western Kentucky, along with interest from Florida, Mississippi State, Tennessee, Ohio State and Vanderbilt.

Saw him walking around Nutter today. Knew he was a “big deal” as soon as I saw him. That guy is a MONSTER!
We have gone from recruiting against OVC, MWC, and MAC schools to battling the big names now. What a difference a few months can make!
He’s not from Etown, the postal address says Radcliff and he attends John Hardin, that’s not E-town and trust me as someone from there, there is a HUGE difference!
Come be a hero? Isn’t that was FSU is telling Andrew Wiggins? But KSR is calling him selfish if he chooses to go somewhere to be the hero? If this kid goes to Alabama, he will be doing the same thing your basketball team does. Play with the best and dominate little ol Kentuckys of the world.
Don’t be a hero, Matt. Go to Alabama and take the easiest path the the NFL.
Scout has him listed as a OT while rivals says DT. Anyone know which he is being recruited as at the college level?

Ya’ll are funny! Radcliff is about 10 minutes from E-town, before you get into the Ft. Knox area. It’s a good 35-40 minutes from the SW end of Louisville. It’s almost part of E-town. I live here in E-town. Have all my life. Elam goes to John Hardin High School, which is one of the 5-A powers. They have a tremendous program there, and have had for quite a few years now. This kid is an absolute MUST-GET! That listed weight of 325 is low from what i hear. Think he’s closer to 340. From what i hear from people close to the kid, he is twice as strong as he looks. Kind of like a kid we got coming in this year, by way of a zero-radius mower. You know, Jacob and Mr. Hyde.

JHHS is in Elizabethtown, KY and off 31W-N on WA Jenkins Road. If you think JHHS is in Radcliff and not E-town, as JT would say, “You are a damn fool and probably believe in the Easter Bunny too.” Haha 🙂

#26 Travis, I know exactly where John Hardin is, and I grew up in Rineyville so yeah, I do know exactly what I’m talking about. Trust me, tell someone from Etown they’re not from Etown and they’ll surely let you know about it. Growing up outside of “Etown”, I know exactly how people from that city think.
