Matt Elam has a Message for BBN

Matt Elam, the 6-foot-6, 350-pound defensive tackle from Elizabethtown, Kentucky, announced via Twitter this afternoon that he will be taking his official visit to Kentucky in the future with current Wildcat commits Drew Barker and Denzel Ware. The 5-star, who’s rated 10th overall nationally by 247 Sports, is down to six schools; Kentucky, Alabama, Ohio State, Louisville, Tennessee, and Notre Dame. Of 26 prognosticators in the 247 Sports network, 73% believe Elam will pick Kentucky while the other 27% believe that Alabama will win his services.

    This could be huge! When was the last time UK got a top 50 player much less a top ten? He could solidify us a top ten class. Also, in Stoops third year we could have four legit Kentucky born playmakers in Elam, Barker, Timmons, and Hatcher. It could be the team that finally makes UK a football school with an actual football team. Go Cats!

    5-star. Hahahaha. Sure he’s a 5-star at 247, but he’s a 3-star at every single one of the other recruiting services. Keep cherry picking your information KSR. By the way, when you report on team rankings, I notice you use Rivals and ignore 247sports. Why is that?

    Elam’s composite ranking is #168. He’s far from being a top 10 player.

    7, ESPN has him as a 4-star. Many sites have some of our guys that are 3’s on one site, 4’s on another. The thing that makes me confident in Elam is his offer sheet. The kid is getting pursued by the big boys of football.

    @7 Elam is a 5* on 24/7, 4* on Scout/ ESPN, & a 3* on Rivals.
    Rivals probably hasn’t updated his profile since he hasn’t participated in any of their camps recently to my knowledge. Yeah, UofL fans totally don’t cherry pick their recruits highest ranking or anything either.
    Rivals, to most, seems to generally be the most accurate & popular, could be why. Also, they’ve listed all of our recruiting rankings from all the services a few times, they just stick with Rivals mainly. Don’t act like you don’t do the same for your team.

    #5. If the SEC is the conference of men, where does UK fit in that? Seeing that they haven’t beaten a decent SEC team in years. Maybe UK is the SEC’s water boy. I mean Alabama’s water boy can say he was a part of the National Championship team. He was there, but did he really contribute to their greatness? UK is the same to the SEC. You can say you’re are part of it, but losing every game doesn’t mean you contribute.

    7 – Because the other services haven’t updated their rankings since Elam was so impressive when he played against the top competition at Alabama’s camp. BTW ESPN has him ranked as a 4 star. It is expected all of them will raise him up to a 5 star when they do update their rankings. This was all reported earlier by KSR.

    Elam WILL be wearing the UK blue and white when all is said and done. We are KILLING little brother on the recruiting trail and I am loving every minute of it! It is even more gratifying to know that it is getting under their skin when their trolls come on our board and start bashing a recruit that they can only dream of having. I have NEVER visited their boards because I could care less about what they are doing.

    On a chilly December night in the not too distant future, young Elam, will lead UK onto the field in the SEC Championship game. The State of Kentucky will come to a standstill to watch it and soak it all in, and I will pout like a little biotch.
