Mark Emmert Filibuster

“Now watch as I put my career in a choke hold and slowly drain the life from it.” – Mark Emmert
Since the days of Enes Kanter, all of our Big Blue Nation citizens have known that Mark Emmert is a joke of an NCAA president. While the NCAA has plenty of faults, allowing this guy to run things has got to be one of the worst ones ideas ever.
Emmert’s big controversy of the day is currently the Miami issue where the NCAA royally screwed the pooch. This ordeal goes back to the Nevin Shapiro ponzi scheme case in which he was rolling over for the feds and spilling the beans left and right. This was where all that Clint Hurtt talk came from. I’ll spare you the details, but recently Miami has attempted to get the case against it dismissed. Read more on the controversy here. But that’s not the point of this post.
Today, Emmert took to a press conference. In this press conference, Mark Emmert channelled Kentucky’s very own Rand Paul and babbled in filibuster fashion to avoid questioning from the press. The press conference tok place in ATL at the Final Four, but with the Miami stuff, the firing of the chief of rules enforcement, and now the Auburn stuff, Emmert surely expected to get hammered by the media. Instead, he continued to talk and talk and talk … and talk some more. Eventually the question time came and he was like a deer in the headlights.
Jump on twitter and do a search for “Emmert” for some high quality comedic entertainment. The guy is getting absolutely drilled from everyone.

The Enes situation itself was a filibuster
Oh yeah, FIRST
Muck Fark
Chris, keep your liberal agenda out of your KSR posts. I’m sick of seeing a political tone in every single thing you put up here.
I can’t really take his posts seriously ever since he made that post about being a hipster.
I don’t see why people are frustrated with Chris. All filibusters are just babbling, a la Rand Paul. It’s not a political slant, it’s a reference to someone with whom we’re familiar. People are too touchy when it comes to politics. Just my 2 cents.
#3 and 4 – Funny thing about living in Charles Barkley’s “Amurica”, you are protected by the constitution which says you are free to discuss your opinions on politics, religion, and a host of other topics.
this guy deserves whatever he gets. he is a perfect example of people who get positions of power, abuse it, and suddenly dont think the rules apply to them. pure arrogance.
The guy is getting absolutely drilled from everyone.
The guy is getting absolutely drilled BY everyone.
I don’t see how this post is political at all unless you are talking about NCAA politics. Give the guy a break.

As a UK Honors English major, I applaud your correction.
But, fair warning, you’ll be one busy English teacher trying to bring literacy to this site.
I’ve given up and just focus on the content.
Correct too often or refer to poor writing skills and you’ll be accused of being a member of the dreaded Grammar Police.
Can’t have that on a college sports blog. Sigh.
Oh, wait,.. that was a filibuster!
Here’s another one: Mark Emmert is a TOOL.
The NCAA’s leadership is just like the leadership of our country. A reflection of those whom they represent or who placed them in a position of leadership.
He is a “USED CAR SALESMAN” need I say more!!!!
10. If you’re lucky, you could get a job correcting grammatical errors with that degree. But it’s probably Starbucks in all likelihood.
Comrade Johnson wants me to drop the first nuke on Foxboro: http://philadelphia.cbslocal.com/2013/04/04/bills-wr-stevie-johnson-suggests-on-twitter-that-north-korea-bomb-foxboro-mass/
I think sending it to the NCAA headquarters would rid the world of true evil!!!
10: I too am tired of trying to guess what the hell some of these posts are trying to say. Does anybody proof read what they write anymore? Or in other words – hey reader, you are not important enough for me to take the time so you understand what I’m trying to say.
10, 13-
It’s definitely Starbucks. what the hell kind of grammar is “wait,..” First, a comma and an ellipsis shouldn’t be used together, use on or the other. Second, he didn’t even use a comma and an ellipsis, he used a comma followed by two periods…which is nothing.
Epic fail on grammar policing, but well played on douchebaggery.
This is the guy who power f’d Enes Kanter while letting guys who got cash and cars play after sitting half a season. He could care less about the kids and can go F himself.
I always like it when someone corrects another poster about grammar to only make a grammatical error as well…that alone is worth the price of admission around this place!
Emmert…douchbag. Enough said.
Can any of these KSR as—les do a post without expressing their political agenda? This is supposed to be a SPORTS blog!
You guys are a bunch of pusses!! Good Lord, Just read the article and move on… Get off this site if you don’t like the grammar or the posts or any other thing that you guys bitch about.
Stop hating life people!
The NCAA is struggling to hold onto their power, and have lost all credibility. Unless Jay Bilas is hired to clean house & clean up the NCAA, the NCAA in present form will more than likely not exist 10 years from now.
#21, I like the idea of Bilas being head of NCAA. He seems level-headed enough that he could be a good ambassador and help repair the tarnished image of the NCAA. However, he’s probably smart enough to not take the job.
It is “NOT ME” that causes grammatical errors or:
“Not fast enough fingers” that type to get my thoughts out, says:
Not me either.
Commenters just suck.
Everyone knows that.
This website would be so MUCH BETTER w/o commenters.
“Dog with cigar laughs”
I went and seen Ware in the Indy hospital.
24, i would hope you would seeing how Loserville, Adidas, and the NCAA are making money with tshirts that have his number on the back.

“As a UK Honors English major, I applaud your correction.

You never start a sentence with “but” or “and’ or “however.” You sentence should have been, “I applaud your correction but fair warning, you’ll…..
BTW I’m an old 66 year old fart. I’ve been correcting kids like you guys for years, LOL. If you need any more help, just let me know.
Rand Paul was right and several Democrats agreed with him. Please don”t compare him to Emmert.

When the superconferences form, the NCAA becomas as important (and impotent) as the NIT.
Mark Liptak
Quick someone pull that rug back and check for brains, then hire Jay Bilas to do the job this guy is incapable of performing.
Sound more like Obama babbling.
Rand Paul > KSR
Here you go bringing politics into it again…Rand Paul is a wonderful Senator who is bright and…thank God, Conservative.. Doesn’t believe in murdering unborn innocent babies….doesn’t believe is stealing our guns and abolishing the constitution…doesn’t believe in a welfare state….isn’t a socialist like Obama or John Yarmuth…and He’s probably a cat fan to boot. I’d run him for President. Heck Popey the sailor man would do better that that boob we have in there now. If you bring it up in the article…its fair for me to comment on it. Go cats!

I applaud your input as well.
However, you are dead wrong.
Beginning sentences with the words you deem incorrect was the rule when you were in high school.
Those rules, along with the times, have changed.
You could look this up on Google since you apparently have the technology.
As for the rest of the haters, I was having some fun baiting those quick to respond that proper grammar has no place on a sports blog. They are always ready to pounce. LOL.
Most importantly, those of you who mentioned that my degree from UK would help me get a job at Starbucks are absolutely correct. I am looking forward to my lapel pin for twenty years as a part-time under-assistant barista. I enjoy making the UK logo on the crema of every cappuccino. Drives the UCLA customers nuts. (note; incomplete sentence).
I wonder if you geniuses even know who or what Starbucks even refers to without looking it up.
Maybe you could ask an English major.
Nerds respond in 3, 2, 1…
Can Emmert be fired by anyone or is he kind of his own boss?
We get it, we know you guys are huge liberals. Please just stick to reporting Ky basketball news. I will get my political insight from other areas.
the ncaa is the rutgers basketball coach of oversite organizations. they are super douches who dont give a crap about the student athletes and sit in private and make crooked deals like the douches at the tostitos bowl. emmert should kill himself.
SWING FOR THE FENCES
SHUTUP YOU DONT KNOW NOTHING
