Marcus Lee cuts Louisville, down to UK and Cal (ifornia)

Marcus Lee’s brother told The Cats Pause that Marcus is down to two schools: Kentucky and California. Rivals.com’s No. 15 overall player in the class of 2013 dropped Louisville from his list this week.

Calipari was out in California to see Lee on Monday.

Go Cats.

We didn’t want or need him. He was a back-up from the start!

From what I’ve read, and the way Cal has recruited him, I’d say ‘definitely.’ Noel, Cauley-Stein replacement.

Just watched highlights, he definitely seems like an elite player.. blocks everything and finishes well

Lee, Young, Wiggins, Harrisons, Randle & Willis. Cal will be re-writing his own recruiting record book.

People, people… don’t you remember, uofl is a football school now. They don’t care about a top 15 recruit in basketball. It is football, football, football, over there. At least I think that’s what charlie strong said – ya know he does sound a bit like charlie brown’s teacher.

It would be great to have Marcus Lee on board!

Will Cauley-Stein be a one and done?

UofL definitely got the better end of the deal with the #82 player versus #15

Cal or UK? What’s the wait.

I could easily see Lee and Young commit to UK soon. But then what does that do to the harrisons? Randle? Will wiggins come to UK if he comes to 2013?

The pieces are starting to fall in place, we will be sitting pretty by the end of October.

I hope we can land this kid. This class is thin in front court players and if we do not land Randle, then our entire front court next year is Wiltjer and Cauley-Stein. No backups. So adding Marcus Lee would give us depth and a possible starter for the 2013-14 season. Plus he blocks shots. I’m all for getting this kid.

Also, I don’t think he affects the Harrison twins or Wiggins in any way. Maybe Randle but that’s about it.

are we still repeating what relatives say about recruits? Matt, you’ve got a crack reporting staff there at KSR.

That means he cut his list to Cal or Cal.

If he commits I dont see if affecting anyone else. Twins, wiggins, young play different positions and Randle is better. Only issue would be scholarships.

If this young man comes to Kentucky,,,he will see significant minutes on the floor. He is not a backup for anyone.

We are barely going to have any players returning next year. Cal is just stocking the cupboard. We may take a class of anywhere from 5-7 if he thinks we’ll need that many.

I wish I could bottle all of these quotes, so when Lee chooses California, we can compare them to the inevitable “he wouldn’t have gotten minutes” and “Cal didn’t want him anyway” quotes.
