Lunardi moves Cats up in latest Bracketology

While last night’s win didn’t do much to help the Cats’ Tournament resume, other teams’ losses did. Fellow bubble teams Wichita State, Maryland, Indiana State, and Charlotte all lost, which boosted Kentucky out of Joe Lunardi’s last four in and safely in to the tournament (for now):

LAST FOUR IN
Virginia (Kentucky moved up and out of this category)
Temple
Villanova
Ole Miss

FIRST FOUR OUT
Tennessee
Baylor
Boise State
Arizona State
Note: Alabama moves into this final slot if ASU loses at UCLA on Wednesday night.

Lunardi’s full updated Bracketology will be released tomorrow.

Just keep winning, just keep winning…

Media just likes to stir up drama. We are in period. Playing for seeding now.

I think we are in if we win 1 of next 3 and at least 1 in sec tourney…anything better than that just improves seeding…if we win all 3 and make sec finals we could move all they way up to a 4-5 seed

win 2 of the 3 would be great! But no blow outs can happen.

It’s interesting how seeding works but I’d rather have a 12 seed than an 8,9,10, or 11 seed to pair up with the 4, 13 winner rather than a 1,2, or 3. Plus many years a 5 seed is no better than the 8 or 9.

Lunardi is just guessing so I don’t know why anyone really worries about all this stupid bracketology crap. He was doing this back in November for chrissakes! Kentucky is most likely in and if they can win 2 of their last three and DON’T make it, something is VERY wrong with the NCAA selection process.

I think Lunardi’s track record of matching up with the selection committee does give him some credibility. So it is interesting to see what he says, although it will never be exact. I agree though, win 2 of the next 3 and we’re fine. With Shows calling the Arkansas game it makes me a little more nervous, but if the team plays with confidence and has fun in a hostile environment they’ll be fine.

I wouldn’t call us “safely in” at this point. We are still a bubble team that can’t really afford losses to Arkansas or Georgia going down the stretch. I think we can lose at Arkansas and still get in, but we won’t be “safely in” unless we win both of those games.

11 Its a slice of time view…not a prediction…its meant to answer the question “What if they picked the field today?” Of course a bad loss would have an adverse effect

Funny how Lunardi s*cks when he has the Cats out, but he’s a genius with phenomenal insight when he has them in. Imagine that.

Good god, how many times can you all felate this guy? It’s just ONE person’s opinion, and you all act like it’s the actual selection committee official posts. Let me guess, you all also worship Ben Bernanke as well.

How is TN a last 4 out after just beating Florida? That’s odd and I’m not even a Vols fan….

The SEC has produced 3 of the past 7 National Champions in basketball. UK is currently in second place in the SEC, 1 game out of first place. It would be madness to only take 1 or 2 teams from the SEC and to exclude UK while including some of these other teams which barely have a winning record in their conferences (I’m talking about you, Jerry Palm.)

Florida, Kentucky, Tennessee and Missouri are all good enough to be competitive in the NCAA Tournament, so I hope that all 4 get in. If Alabama beats Florida and finishes the league with only 4 losses, then they deserve to be in as well.
