Love and Basketball?

The smile of a satisfied man

When I first heard that Tyshawn Taylor of Kansas was suspended indefinitely, I assumed it was because he either a)took it upon himself to lay the smack down on another football player or b)engaged in gang/drug related activity. “Point plankn.” On the contrary, this SportsByBrooks post refutes that. Unnamed sources point to a romantic encounter between Taylor and fellow suspended women’s player Marisha Brown…occurring late one night inside Allen Fieldhouse. Apparently he has what we in the business call ‘mad game’. Point plankn, Tyshawn. Point plankn, indeed.

The last time Allen Fieldhouse saw that much action, it was UK-centric, as Matt, Drew, and Tomlin all shared a single sleeping bag on the roadtrip last year. Speaking of lovely ladies in the basketball world,  Senior Night for the Lady Cats (aka UK Hoops) is currently taking place against Arkansas in Memorial. You can watch or listen on the Big Blue Sports Network. Somebody make sure these girls get to bed early and out of the gym, for their parents’ sake.

I got in a near similar jam like that back at ol’ McAllister back in the day. But what happens at Transy, stays at Transy. Lady hoopsters go all out.

Congrats to Lady Wildcats on winning their second buzzer beater game versus Arkansas on senior night. If you guys get a chance go back to ESPN3 and watch the replay. Down 3 with 50 ticks to go forced two turnovers with pressure and scored with 4 seconds to go for a go ahead win.

Hoops win in a tight one:
    Short recap of the end:

LEXINGTON, Ky. — A’dia Mathies made a layup with 4.4 seconds left to give No. 20 Kentucky a 55-54 win over Arkansas on Thursday night.

Mathies held the ball at the top of the key during Kentucky’s final possession. She drove and hit a contested shot from the left side to give the Wildcats their first lead in over 12 minutes. C’eira Ricketts got off one last shot for Arkansas from about 35 feet but missed it to the right.

Mathies finished with 17 points and nine rebounds for Kentucky (21-7, 10-5 Southeastern Conference). Ricketts had 17 points for Arkansas (18-9, 6-9).

The Razorbacks had the ball and a one-point lead after Kentucky’s Victoria Dunlap hit a pair of free throws with 24.9 seconds left. But Yashira Delgado stepped out while trying to break the Wildcats’ press, setting up Mathies’ big shot.

Kentucky led 28-13 before the Razorbacks closed the first half with an 8-0 run.

Kentuckys 2011 recruiting class is impressive to say the least, but we are still weak at shooting guard and center. I personally believe that Calipari should start recruiting Ben MClemore and Michael Chandler. Recruiting Mclemore would pressure Lacey to commit quicker and Chandler could be our beat and bang center that we will really need in the sec and ncaa tourney. Although he is not currently commmitted to a school, Ben Mclemore is high on Kansas, but who’s to say he wouldn’t give Kentucky serious conideration? Plus Michael Chandler would most certainly commit to UK if Calipari made him a serious target

Hey Mike…please come back on selection Sunday and let us know where UK and “da ville” are ranked. I’m guess that by then lil brother will have 3 more losses (more than we will end with) and the tards will be in hiding untill football season.
