Throw your L’s up if you want the afternoon notes and podcast! (Don’t really do that. I’ll give them to you anyway.)
— The King is still hanging out in Fayette County. LeBron scrimmaged with the team again this afternoon on campus. Tayshaun, Rondo, and Big Cuz were also hooping it up. We’re hearing that a lot of students are gathering around the Craft Center to hopefully catch an autograph or at least a glimpse of LeBron. Aaron Boyd must be close the action because he tweeted, “Just threw a basketball to LeBron!” If anyone gets pictures or video of King James in Lexington, send it to us and we’ll get it on the site.
— All the talk in the sports world today is of Sarah Palin and Glenn Rice. The two supposedly hooked up back in 1987 when Palin was a sports reporter in Anchorage and Rice was playing for Michigan. The jokes come easy but none of them compare to Seth Davis digging up an old 2008 campaign article titled, Palin On Michigan Pullout: “I Want To Try”
— Recruiting news? Sure. Kentucky is officially out of the mix for Kaleb Tarczewski. Earlier in the week, we learned that Tarczewski was only taking visits to Kansas and Arizona, and yesterday he narrowed his list down to those two schools. Scout.com’s No. 5 center wasn’t recruited hard by Kentucky until late in the summer and he never seemed like a recruit the Cats would end up getting. McGary, Coleman and Willie Cauley are the big men Kentucky is really focused on in 2012. Tarczewski is a loss but not a detrimental one.
— As we mentioned earlier, Coach Cal will be making an in-home visit to Perry Ellis on Friday night. He’ll turn around and visit Brewster Academy in Massachusetts on Saturday to watch T.J. Warren and Mitch McGary. Fire up the jet.
— Tomorrow is KSR’s fourth annual Louisville Hate Day. We’ll be hating on Louisville every hour on the hour from start to finish. The KSR staff will be working around the clock tonight to get things ready for our favorite day of the year. Also, don’t forget to use the hashtag #LouisvilleHateDay in all of your tweets so we can keep things organized as we attempt to shut down the Internet. This is going to be fun.
Matt had Ryan Lemond in studio to make fun of Sarah Palin and Glenn Rice. Enjoy…
