Locke garners SEC honors

For their week one win over Miami, corner Treard Lindley was named as the SEC Defensive Player of the Week. This time around, junior running back Derrick Locke has been named SEC Special Teams Player of the Week after his 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown against the Filthy Cards. Locke, who also rushed for 72 yards and a touchdown and caught 47 more, is also the holder of three track awards (SEC All-Freshman, SEC Indoor Freshman, NCAA Indoor All-American) and was named UK’s Most Outstanding First Year Player in 07. Micah Johnson and his twelve tackles was listed under “Other Outstanding Performances” while Rich Brooks and Lones Seiber were noticeably absent from the “Visible Celebration with a Supporting Character” category.
