Matt, don’t you think after all that has happened with Petrino, he won’t be able to recruit as well as he once did? I mean, how many moms out there are really gonna let him into their homes to recruit their sons? Matt,

Keeping with your prom metaphor, Bobby Petrino is the smoking hot chick in the low cut dress that just got dumped. We are nice and lovable loser that she is using to make her old beaux and other jocks jealous.

Sonny Dykes is the very cute (and attainable) chick, that we ignore because we’re too busy salivating over the smoking hot chick.

Here’s the point, if we wanna get any “action” we better lock in to the very cute (and attainable) chick. If we spend all of our time paying attention to the smoking hot chick that is just using us for attention, we really will end up with the girl with boogers hangin off her nose.

You are the voice of UK to a lot of us. When you listen to one person cover the similar topics for a couple years, you are probably going to get some inconsistancy. That is with anybody, nothing personal. However, sometimes I totally disagree with your opinion. If that makes me a hater, or you threaten to close down the show thread before reading my comment, that is crazy… You should be a little more receptive to some points of view that are not your own. Matt,
Any good CEO in a hiring situation would pay more attention to interviews with REFERENCES than interviews with the candidate himself. A guy like Petrino can look good in an interview, but Barnhart will learn more from calling formers ADs and coworkers. It’s how major hires work; you ask around to get the real story. Hear, talking to former ADs, possibly players, and other front-office people might reveal that Petrino isn’t worth it — or it might reveal that he’d be okay.

If he leaves us in the middle of a season instead of at the end the only thing that suffers is our pride. It’s not like anyone is going to shut the program down. If he has more problem s off the field like at Arkansas, again so what. Kentucky is 3rd in the nation of all NCAA Sports merchandising revenue. An estimated $6.73MM. How much of that sold because of the 1 win football team? .000001% maybe?

Ticket sales revenue for football will decrease again unless there is a huge coaching hire.

That puts them on the same level at worst, despite a $10MM gap in SEC TV revenue, which is really a NCAAF vs. NCAAM argument, not a UK basketball vs UK football argument.
