To our advantage college basketball as a whole is very bad right now. IU is supposed to be the great team but they struggled vs a very bad UGA team and a decent at best Georgetown team. Duke is prolly next and we played with them. UF can be good but also be bad, not consistent. That and hopefully learning is our upside. I know we made almost no shots today but we did get good shots which is important. I have never seen a game where so many shots went more than half way down but popped out. Problem is this team does not have the room for errors like last year. The effort was there. I still don’t understand how Alex gets 1 def rebound, no excuse. We do need Ryan at point, Archie is a great player but better understand he can’t plow through 2 or 3 people, he did better in 2nd half though his play at end of 1st half killed us. Look we did not make shots today, bottom line. This team still has a chance to be a tough out come March. They have lots to work on but talent is there. Don’t understand how these guys can be so bad at catching the ball from a pass or rebound though. We still have the most upside of any team and Cal’s teams have shown in the past to get better as the season goes so we will have to wait to see where this team ends up.

What does this loss really mean???? Lost the home court win streak, big deal. Will we lose more? Most likely. Are we as good as last year? No way. Will we be a threat to go all the way come March?? You better believe it. I hate losses as bad as anyone, there is many things to work on,but we everything will be fine. At worst…..look out next year, the monster will be back!!!!!!!!!

Disappointed, yes. Jumping off a cliff like a lot of these so called fans on here, no way. Let me ask you a simple question. Would you rather have Baylors team or Notre Dames team than our team? I would hope than none of you answered yes to that. We lost to two teams that are better now than we are but no way either beats us at the end of the year.Harrow just needs to play and get his confidence back and everyone needs to lay off of Wiltjer, without him we go no where this year. He has to make shots for us.Just so happen today that no one could buy a shot. Wiltjers first 4 or 5 were in and out and then after that I think he lost some confidence. He will be fine. Harrow will be the key. We have to get the ball out of Goodwins hands until he learns to play under control. He needs to be benched just like the rest of the players who screw up.WCS needs more minutes.

I have less of a problem with our 3 losses this year to good-to-excellent teams than I do with the picture of Rod Stewart on the left-side of this website right now.

Really, did you think we would go 40-0? Did you think Noel would be as good as Anthony Davis and Goodwin would be another MKG? Did you think that Harrow would be as good a defender as Teague? That Wiltjer would magically become as strong and fast as Terrence Jones?

Calm down. It is the first day of December, it is a young team, and they will grow into their roles and make us all proud come March.

Can’t start with a whole new team. Have to have someone coming back. Even for Cal 2nd year had Miller, Liggins, Jorts coming back. This year no one. Shouldn’t convince Teague or Lamb-type players to go pro. Not playing anyway.

    4:30 pm December 1, 2012 Permalink

Ya know, if Cal cared so much about his players, why would he set them up to have seasons like this? Yes, what happened last year was a great thing for UK and its basketball team. But what about this year? All these kids (who are totally overrated btw) are going to get their heads beat in all year, on and off the court. If Cal cares so much about them I would think he’d not set them up for epic failure.

    4:32 pm December 1, 2012 Permalink

    33. Are you serious? Temper expectations? Umm, losing to Duke, and maybe losing a few games on the season is fine. But getting blown out at Notre Dame and then embarrassing yourself at home two days later is unacceptable. Maybe you’re okay will mediocrity, and being downright bad, but I’m not. I’m a UK fan. I expect the best, because Kentucky is the best. And half this team doesn’t deserve to play for Kentucky.

#37: Man, we all feel frustrated, ok? Sheesh…by your logic, we suck now. So are you going to stop rooting for a good tourney run now? Especially since your expectations were not met? Tempering means just that: when times are good, we’ll all be happy (except the trolls).

  46. Realistic
    5:14 pm December 1, 2012 Permalink

You guys (non-trolls) need to settle down. This team will be fine when Harrow is fully in charge of this team. He is not a prototypical Cal guard, but he doesn’t need to be. He just needs to dish, control, and when there score, unlike today where he tried to be Teague. Actually, he was like an early season Teague. Need the 7 footers to do dunking drills not involving alley oops, team drills on how to defend pick and rolls, help defense and taking charges. Sad when your starting center/forward is the only one attempting to take charges. Both Goodwin and Harrow did excellent when they rubbed their man off a teammate, but were terrible when just trying to beat their man off the dribble into double and triple teams. Still time guys, take a deep breath and step away from the pipe. P.S. sorry for the double entendres, unintentional.

  47. reedwizard
    6:38 pm December 1, 2012 Permalink

Agreed #46. What has me worried is that Cal has said that Goodwin is our point guard. Harrow needs 25-30 minutes a game right now. If Cal plays him 15 min then this will be his worse coaching job while here because the team won’t hit their stride until it’s too late. Harrow must run the team for us to be successful.

Noel hustles and plays hard, but his bball IQ (along with WCS) is terrible and his hands are worse. I think they both guys need another year. Even early, you could see AD’s skills and IQ and he played up to his potential. I don’t see the skills of our bigs improving much and Cal has even pointed out that no one is in the gym improving their game.
