The rumor mill rarely hits the journalism world, but for today it may have. Word on the proverbial street (which is located next to Elm Street) is that the Herald Leader has been preparing for some time to write a story on Billy Gillispie’s personal life and his first year in Lexington. The investigation on this story has been going on for some time and the folks I have talked to seem to suggest that the focus of the story may have changed a bit. The current “word on the street” is that the story may even refute widespread rumors about Gillispie and his time in Lexington. Of course there is no assurance that the story will run and even less assurance what will be in it, but the scuttlebutt is that whatever is to come is likely to come on Sunday. So everyone who is boycotting the Herald Leader or canceling their subscriptions, ignore Sunday’s paper twice as hard….for the rest of us, check it out….I even hear that Jerry Tipton didnt write it.
