I so hope UL goes to the Big 12! The inventors of football would be crushed annually by some of the teams in the conference. The bonus would be how quickly Ricky would retire. That pompous bastard would be forced to leave all his big cities for the small college towns again. Hilarious! That was Tommy Turtleneck’s selling point to Ricky when he was persuading him to coach at UL, that one day they would be in the Big Least.

Gonzalez, one of the best defensive shortstops in the league, kicked the ball which is just as big of a play as Bartman but obviously nobody cares like the Stanley wild pitch before the Buckner error. Any team that gets 5 outs in an inning would probably score 8 runs too!

  10. JohnnyPikeville

As a Cubs fan I will say that I hate the way they treated Bartman. It wasn’t right and it’s sad that the guy’s whole life got turned upside down. Everyone forgets the Alex Gonzale’s play immediately after.

  11. Jax Teller
    10:13 am September 28, 2011 Permalink

That’s what happens when you have white trash fans that are also known as Cub fans. They are some of the worst in MLB. Bartman didn’t cost the Cubs that game, Alou whined like a little girl, Alex Gonzalez boots a ball, then you had a whole game 7 to win. Give it up Cub fans. I don’t feel sorry for you because you haven’t won a World Series in over 100 years, I’m sorry for you because you are a Cubs fan.

#13 — You bring up a good point and I’m sure you are a great fan. However, there’s a reason people have opinions of certain fanbases. Reality lies somewhere in the middle: some fans are extreme; some, like you appear to be, are normal and just love their team. A trip to Great American Ballpark when the Cubs are in town will bring both groups of people. It’s been my experience that a lot of the fans there help portray the negative light on Cubs fans.

Best evidence of state-wide fanhood is that you will see both UL and UK merchandise in louisville stores, but ZERO UL merchandise in any other location in the state. Lexington? NONE. Northern KY? After church crowd is generally pretty horrible.
Retail workers coming by during lunch time is a nightmare, though who can blame them, they’re making like 8 bucks an hour.
Old people are also a tossup.
Never had a problem with cops, but they usually eat free and still do 15% of the original check.

The worst was, at a Chili’s in Lexington, we had a group of hill people church goers that would show up every sunday night right before closing. It was the creepiest group you could ever have, like something from Texas Chainsaw Massacre or The Hills Have Eyes.

I tip at least 20% unless I have a rude or terrible waiter. I tip at least 20% w/ great service or a cheap bill….such as an appetizer and a few beers and it’s $20 bucks I might give a $10 tip, if the service is very good. It’s their jobs people, you can shell out a couple more bucks for someone that’s not making jack if they don’t get good tips. Thereagain unless the server is rude or just a jerk.

I requested a separate check, but since my party was sizable, the waitress automatically added a gratuity. In my lack of sobriety, I glanced at the total amount, neglecting to see the added tip. Then I handed her my credit card. When she returned the card, I handed her a cash twenty, before signing my slip. Just as she walked away, I discovered the added gratuity. A feeling of idiocy immediately overwhelmed, BUT… because of our rowdiness, she probably deserved it.
